ADUG will step in with any offer but r only prepared to pay the asking price in the last hour of the window, (if Hughes wants him that badly) they have no choice.. they will just go in as they did with Robinho.

Don't tell me paying 11m for Bridge wasn't paying over the odds. What's the problem with paying 24m for Cruz? That seems to be the figure they're thinking of. If you don't want to pay over the odds, don't set a stupid precedent. No one's going to pay anything like 18m for Cruz, but equally no one was likely to pay anything like 11m for Bridge. Bridge, remember, was grossly over-priced when bought for 7m a few years ago. 8m would have been generous, giving a "City premium". It costs the fans nothing, because there won't be any increase in ticket prices, nor in any other costs, but buying good players for incredible prices makes the club look like mugs.

£24m, fuck that. Didn't Liverpool pay about that for Torres? Tell Eddie Whopper to do one and we'll look elsewhere.

Its times like this I wish Bernstein was still at the helm of transfers.............Remember he didnt want fat bob, was overruled, left because of it, and was proved entirely correct!!!
