In the morning before my math "O" level exam I went to the local boating lake with my mate Adrian and we jumped in fully clothed. I have no idea why. I got a soggy "b" in maths.

Sir Arthur Whitten Brown of Allcock and Brown fame taught my dad to fly in the 1930s

I've been on tv playing golf...........

And when I was 18 I played guitar in a band, I was rubbish and didn't last long, but the rest of 'em went on to be really famous and rich :(
 
Went carol singing at Les Dawson's house one Christmas.

He opened the door to see two very little girls (aged about 9) singing earnestly and he just stood back in silence for a few minutes to let us finish. He was lovely. Had time and patience (even though he had just hit fame and appeared on This is Your Life). He had a bit of banter with us after, but without being patronising at all.

Very VERY nice man. Things like that mean a lot when you are a kid.
