Just finished watching the match as I couldn't watch live earlier as I was at TST watching Sergio Aguero in person - I certainly couldn't turn that down.

What a performance by Coco Gauff. Down 1-4 in the first set, gutsy comeback to a tiebreak and lost the first set only by the narrowest of margins.

Second set was a dominant performance of calm and steady nerves while Sabalenka simply grunted and whined into dropping that one and scolding her box for her own bad play. She was unhinged most of sets 2 and 3, while Coco stoically played to the point you had to wonder if she realized what was happening. Quite a change from the earlier player I've seen years prior to this in her more mature approach to the match today.

After having to watch Sabalenka play this match only because she was up against Coco, it didn't take me long to remember why I don't enjoy watching her tennis, with grunts lasting into the swing of her opponent that lasted the entire time, to the "blame the box" approach when things turned sour. Just a bad look overall.

First US Women's title win at the French Open since 2015 Serena Williams, and now back to back Majors wins for another US women's tennis player. Quite heady and enjoyable times!
