with puns like that you're more than welcome to kume bah ahs one day - we could have a singsong round the fire...

It must be so annoying that the airline doesn't allow you to ask them directly and instead forces you to ask for advice and/or guidance on a football forum.

If a few people said something along the lines of 'just take as much as you can carry and they'll bung it in the hold' would you do that? Would you really risk getting to the airport to be told sorry sir but that lot is going to cost you an additional £600 or it's not going on?

I'd hope not.

Serious answer

You need to contact the Canadian authorities to see if they will allow a used tent in because of contamination.
Friends of mine sold their's before they emigrated to Australia because if it was deemed to be contaminated (mud or grass anywhere) then they would have had to make a decision of having it destroyed or disinfected at far more than the tent was worth

Of all the replies, this is the funniest.

Yea, we're going to bung it in the hold.
