Tenuous connections to Manchester City players old and new.

You were unlucky. When I lived in Chorlton, I think I only ever went in that Italian restaurant next to the Canadian Charcoal Pit, three times and he was in there two of them.
I loved the Canada Grill…bought takeaways from there thousands of times……and Denis was probably next door most of the time!!!
Forgotten the name of that Italian restaurant - always went to Don Antonio’s in Withington.

used to work with a girl, who's grandfather was Jackie Bray, played in the 1930s team that won the league and cup. played seven aside with Mark Brennan early nineties player a few times.

Yeah, I spent five minutes before I posted trying to grab the name from the memory bank but gave up in the end. Think Victoria Wines was the other next door and there was a nightclub above it at the time, who’s name also escapes me.

That club had a few names through the years. The Lamplight / Shades / Club Colour spring to mind 80's/90's
Apparently it was a Royal British Legion in the 1950's and The Kabin Club late 60's/early 70's.

Not really tenious and I may have mentioned it before.. But my best mate has a grandson that plays for City.
On another more tenious note, my gran lived on Egbert St in Moston and had a friend who owned a chippy there who was called Mrs Kidd.

Shades was what I was thinking of. Thanks for that. My local was The Lloyds at the time. Which leads me on to my entry for the thread. Ken Barnes played for their bowls team when I was a regular in there.

Paul Power once signed my autograph book as he was walking his Alsatian in Prestbury.

Hope that counts.
