Terrorist attack on asylum centre

If this were done by a brown may say hurling petrol bombs at an HMP then driving off and killing himself that would be a terrorist suicide bomber. In this case its not - wonder what the difference is? Sir Roger Gale says it was someone suffering "severe mental health issues" - I can't say I believe he would have been informed of the mental health of a man who lived over a hundred miles away from his constituency. Furthermore it seems to have been hardly reported on tomorrows front pages. Is there an awkward truth behind all this?

You would expect it comes under terrorism as defined by the law, as it is an attack on a form of infrastructure, if Kent police are deciding not to treat it as such they are failing to uphold the law correctly and doing sp encourages copycat attacks.

right wing extremism is the second highest number of police investigations and arrest made in this country under terrorism laws, but unless it's a high profile event seems to get little or no coverage.

I know what that is but do you think that’s why more are choosing to come here?

If that was so they’d surely not want to now the Rwanda policy was introduced?

Setting up a processing centre in Calais with British officials working with the French to vet and expedite applications should be workable and would cut down on channel crossings.

But this would be a workable solution and the Govt doesn't want workable solutions, it just wants no one turning up here so they make it as difficult as
possible which is why we are here.

Rwanda isn’t a deterrent. For one, the scheme cannot take that many people and the chances are you will end up not going even if picked. Previously, we would send them back to France, but now we can’t do that, and given that legally we have a duty of care and to process their claims, they will keep pitching up in ever increasing numbers.

There isn’t a really a solution to this issue, at least not one that is acceptable to the Govt. So, other than to wish everyone crossing a safe journey I guess we are stuck with the frothing outrage and likely increased terrorist attacks on asylum seekers and migrants. All though chances are they will probably blow up the wrong hotel and wipe out a party on a Jolly Boys outing to Margate.

Perhaps if there were more legal/safe ways for people to claim asylum then there would be fewer illegal channel crossings?

As well as processing them more quickly but it would not stop the crossings by dingy! Also how it’s reported by the main media is why we have this hate by many in this country! We need young healthy people to come to this county and should be welcome with open arms if they willing to get there heads down and work pay taxes!

There is a belief in 50 years time young healthy men and woman will be needed in all western countries because of an aging population and people not having as many children..

Criminal gangs have never been stopped via law enforcement.

You stop criminal gangs by destroying demand.

70% of people crossing the channel get granted asylum. The Conservative government is propping up organised crime gangs by forcing legitimate refugees to use them.
And that’s exactly what I’m saying.

well googled - you even used juxtaposed
I already knew that, I just googled the term juxtaposed as I didn’t know what it was called.

You claimed it wasn’t the case.

What I find funny is you’re liking posts from other people who are suggesting we can set up a processing centre in France, after telling me we couldn’t.

Either you’re a complete idiot or a troll.

I’m going with the former.

Exactly what I’ve suggested.

There’s a lot of people not reading properly.

As a local I wouldnt believe a single word both our MP's say. Gale and his mate want manston to be an airport again. They support the company run by a struck off solicitor who has failed 10 times before to open other airports. Manston its self has gone bust 4 times.

Slightly of topic I know .

It does seem odd as to how little is being reported Nationally. I didnt think it was being called a terrorist attack ?

I know. The La Touquet agreement with France effectively puts the UK border in France, so processing applications there makes sense and those that are successful can come to the UK safely.

At the some point the Govt will have to do this, because the current situation of around 30,000 people pitching up on our beaches risking life and limb - not to mention the strain this puts in the RNLI and others who have to rescue those in trouble - is absurd.

Our current policy is to employ increasingly hysterical rhetoric and demand ‘something be done’ but not, it seems, the one thing that would actually work. Do we still have a Commander in charge of the Channel? Seem to recall Patel getting very excited when she appointed him. Probably keeping his head down, or he is striding up and down our beaches armed with a determined look.

Completely agree

Would putting these processing places in grand stop the dingy’s? Me personally I think very unlikely! You get on a dingy don’t phone the life boats get to our beaches then run off. That’s what some reports have said now! You got to be seen to see the People in dingys going straight back to France if we do put these processing places in France or it be a waste of time
