Terry racism trial, this is going to get nasty

Will he get a ban from the FA if he is found guilty? Why have the FA not got involved like they did with the Suarez case?

the fa deferred the issue pending the outcome of the trial. if he's found guilty the fa will then be clear (and obliged) to act and he can expect a lengthy ban. if he's found not guilty that will be the end of the matter as far as the fa is concerned as well.

I guess if found guilty he'll get the same ban as Suarez, can't see the FA giving any more or less as either route would cause a shitstorm.

The maximum he can be hit with is a 2k fine.

There was some legal bod on the radio this morning saying that had this been you or I, the charge would not have been sufficient to warrant a trial by jury. The case would have been heard before a magistrate and dealt with.

I'm assuming that it's gone this way in this case as Captain Racist wants to clear his name?

I thought it was being heard in the Magistrate's Court?

My take on the whole thing is that people like Cole, Welbeck, Lescott, Young etc, etc all decided to line up next to him in an England shirt. They should have approached the FA and said they would not consider playing alongside him in the national team. This whole incident shows professional footballers up for what they really are - just a bunch of rich kids with no morals. Oh, and before anyone asks, yes I would have refused to play alongside him if I was a black player. The Chelsea players probably have it more difficult, as it is their employer, but when it comes to England they have a choice.
Apologies for joining this discussion late, but it has to be pointed out that this is complete bollocks.
