Tevez backs down ?

How on earth can anyone fly to Buenos Aires on a Monday and expect to be back ready for training on the Weds morning ? Having a pre-arranged day off on Tuesday hardly facilitates a return trip to South America.

On the assumption that he didn't turn up this morning he will undoubtedly be fined again. More confrontation on the way.

Perhaps he and Kia are deliberately trying to devalue his worth in the transfer market and force City to arrange a move in January come hell or high water.

Graham Souness has increasingly been proven to be right about this guy.

Depending on what excuse Tevez gives, this may not be two weeks fine....it is much more serious.
I think City now have grounds for "gross misconduct".
To intentionally not turn up for work, or inform your employer as the reason why is grounds for dismissal.
The difference this time, is it would be very hard for Tevez to get out of it.
The only exception to this rule, is if you are unable to contact your employer through severe illness when living alone, or if reasonable communication isn't possible.
As it is, Tevez twice requested time off which was denied. This dismisses any chance he could have claimed illness.
City would finally now have the upper hand, and can dismiss whilst keeping his registration.
This would mean we stop paying his wage immediately, and can pursue damages due to loss of transfer fees.
We would also get a say in who he tries to sign for next, and/or a fee.

I would imagine the default "fatigue/stress/mystery illness" will be trotted out any way, but as mentined, this won't count as he had time to report this.

He is obliged to inform a club official whatever the reason.
He hasn't done either, and left the country.
His failure to turn up for training will now start a chain reaction.

Even his "advisors" are at a loss how to handle this one. They know what ever advantage they had is now gone.
They also know it would now suit City to handle this one in the courts, rather than suffer a fire sale in January...

I'm persoanlly over the moon by all this.
As Mr Burns would say "EXCELLLLENT!!!"

If we can sack him and retain his registration - oh boy, what a wonderful outcome that would be!!

I know it's already been mentioned but I have to say it was funny watching McCarthy squirming on SSN this morning!

Maybe now a few more will start to realise that it isn't just Kia who pulls the strings.

Tevez is his own man and he REALLY IS this stupid.

He successfully appealed against a six week fine, reduced to two.

Only to know he would land himself with another two week fine for openly defying an order to remain at training this week.

City also informed his team in writing, so let's be clear. There will be no lost in translation.

I would love to see that **** Gordon Taylor squirming under his rock today.

Tevez genuinely thinks the more he plays up, the better chance he has of forcing a move.

He's calling our bluff to let him rot and run the risk of his day in court and a free transfer next summer.

I for one would really like City to dismiss him, petition FIFA to ban him from playing, and sue him for everything he's worth... and that would be 40mil + potential loss from sales of shirts and merchandise that he ruined by playing rogue for the past 2 years...

So just to confirm then, this could constitute gross misconduct, therefore we would be within our rights to dismiss him ergo allowing us to retain his registration for the duration of the remainder of his contract and also allow us to pursue him through the courts for compensation?

When he's 50 he'll look back at this time of his life and it will dawn on him how much of a great thing he had at City and he fucked it up. Yes he started fucking it all up when at United (where he also had a great thing, further ahead than we are now and playing in CL finals and winning it too) when he cheated on his wife and she left him, that's where it all started going wrong for him (had nowt to do with Kia, sick of him getting the blame when it's 99% all Carlos Tevez!).

I hope we keep him until his contract is up. Never play him, never even pick him for the bench, train him on his own and if he doesn't show fine him!

I'm assuming "his day in court" is in relation to the 10% rule?

We shouldn't do this. City would be cutting our nose to spite our face.

Sure, it would feel great, but there would be a £25m black hole in our accounts and years of chasing money that he would be in no position to pay.

Get the money in, add sell-on clauses, fuck him off as far away as possible.

I think we could argue for another two week suspension and fine, based on this latest episode.

Save ourselves another £500k and the remote possibility of him ever wearing our shirt again.
