3 of his 5 bookings have been stupid. Twice he has been booked for slamming the ball into the hoardings (today and one other home game - possibly Newcastle). He was also booked for the goal celebration at Blackpool. Am I the only one who thinks Mancini should have a word with him about accumulating avoidable bookings?
The other two were for attempting to block clearances by goalkeepers and should not have been bookings so he is a little unlucky also.
I totally agree on the unnecessary bookings, I'll never understand how clubs put up with them. These guys make way too much money to miss games for such stupid reasons.
I think all of the PL teams should get together and make it clear to the players what exactly are "unnecessary bookings" and come up with some kind of punishment that the clubs can impose for each one.
Also, if I were a manager and had a player who received a yellow for taking off his jersey after scoring a goal, I'd have the equipment manager come up with a way to secure the player's shirt to their shorts when they're wearing them. I don't think anybody would be willing to strip down to their underwear because they want to celebrate.
