Tevez comments in papers tomorrow...

Just a few thoughts. First - he has not left the club. Second - if he decides to leave he has paved the road to go properly. It won't be melodramatic this go round. Third - if he decides to stay you can guaranty he'll give everything he has for the team. That is just the way he is as a player.

It is easy to get all emotional about it and to get pissed at him. But I think that is a bit ridiculous. The guy has been massive for the club. And he isn't much different than a lot of other international players. He didn't grow up City. This isn't Beckham or Maldini playing for their boyhood club. If he stays we should all be thrilled. If he goes it will be for the reasons he has cited publicly. It will be about his kids. It is that simple. Keep in mind this is a player who has nothing to prove on the field. Other than the World Cup he's won everything there is to win. Save West Ham, where he pretty much was the player who kept them up, he's won trophies everywhere he's played. If he stays it will probably be to help bring City a league title. And I'd not bet against him in this team with just a couple more reinforcements. If the club pockets 50 million for him that should bring in two great players.

I think this is the best post in the thread. Let's stop the childish slagging of the player. I could see if he turned in "Balo-like" performances where he floats around the field one day and is brilliant the next. But he has pounded the grass each game for city until he could run no more.

If he decided to leave, thanks for the memories and let's turn him into 2 great players like Liverpool did with Torres.

We need a 100% 'I'm off'or 'I'm staying' very soon after the Bolton game.

A summer of arseing about is the last thing we need.

with it being so soon after the final he might be declairing his love for the club, looked happy enough yesterday

Happy for himself, maybe. Why did he chuck a Neil Young scarf on his way up the stairs. Bit disrespectful. He was happy to have a flag of Argentina wrapped around his shoulders. Prick.

i agree, he was given 2-3 scarfs on his was up and dropped them all. But kept his flag on his back. Show's what is more important to him.

They are just trying to bring up dirt at our time of celebration. And Tevez told them what he has always said, that he is happy here, but would only move if it would improve his family situation.

God knows how much he sees his wife and children?? Why he hasn't signed in a Latin speaking county---well thank god he hasn't!!!

If we let him go I sincerely doubt that we will get more than 35 million for him. We always seem to get screwed these days. SWP will go for 2.5m too. Caiceido is going for less than 1.0m and RSC will probably go for little more.

So what a week, Carlos. How does that feel?

It’s a great achievement to get into the Champions League as we worked very hard for it. Now, to win the FA Cup, it’s a big achievement.

Does it make you as happy as other achievements in your career?

It’s great. There was a huge desire for it and we deserved it. We’ve got a great group, we’ve worked hard and we’ve reached our targets.

Does this silence the critics and make people realise City are going to be a force to be reckoned with?

We are becoming a big team and it’s normal that when you don’t play well people will criticise you. We knew not everyone would accept us, but we’re not playing to shut people up, we’re playing to hit our objectives.

Will you be staying?

It’s a decision that I have to make with my family, who are the priority. I don’t have problems with anyone at the club, things are fine with [Roberto] Mancini, but it’s a decision I need to discuss with my family.

Why are there doubts about your future when City are finally on the brink of something big?

There aren’t. The only reason is that my family, my kids, are a long way from Manchester.

Mancini said last week you told them in December you wanted to go to Italy but he hoped you’d change your mind. Will you?

Everyone knows that in December we had problems with the directors. We discussed various things and it’s a thing I need to discuss with my family.

What will the club have to say to keep you?

It’s normal. I’m at the club, the club wants me to stay, but I have to make sure everything is OK for my family. I’ll have to speak to them about that.

Unless you move back to Argentina, though, family will always be a long distance away. What’s the difference, being in England, Italy or Spain?

You are already talking as if I have left the club. I don’t know if I am going to leave or not, if I’m going to Spain or Italy or somewhere else.

Some people say it’s down to money, that if City offered you a new contract you’d stay...

No, no.

Doesn’t the idea of being the captain who helped overhaul United and won the league appeal to you?

Yes, that is a great motivation to stay. It would make me very happy to win the title here. It is what we all want and need.

How’s your relationship with Mancini?

We have a great relationship. We are both winners and want to achieve more things. We have a good relationship off the pitch and in the professional sense. Sometimes there were problems between us but I think that happens everywhere.

If he stays, he stays and we go on to bigger and better things. If he goes, he goes and we go on to bigger and better things. The club is bigger than one man. Much bigger. He's replaceable by someone in the same mould like Aguero or by adapting our style of play to suit a fast counter attacking approach which relies on through-balls or the diagonal over the top ball, both of which Silva and Yaya are very capable of playing, for Dzeko and Balo to latch onto. Having crosses in from the wing would be a big help too. Been very disappointed in Kolarov in that respect. I could really see the logic of Kolarov plus Dzeko but it has yet to work out. He can play that killer ball but at the moment he needs acres of space to play it because he's rarely brave enough to try and beat his man. He has played the fizzing ball in front of the net quite a few times though and there's not been anyone there to slot it home like there should have been. Again, a source of confusion and frustration. Even more maddening for me is that for Dzeko's fairly rare appearances have on a few occasions been preceded or followed immediately by a Kolarov substitution. Don't see the logic in that. If Mancini bought him purely for his defensive capabilities then he's a waste of money.

As for Tevez sympathisers. He's made some shit choices which have put us in this situation so he's getting none from me. He couldn't keep his nob in his trousers - made all the more hypocritical by his alleged disgust towards John Terry. He's also still got Kia informed of inside business at the club which has got out into the press because of it. I'd prefer us not to do our dirty washing in public. He's been a very disloyal captain. Again sympathisers say he owes the club no loyalty, fine, he shouldn't have accepted the captaincy then. Whether he stays or goes, I want his captaincy taken off him and given to someone more deserving, preferably Kompany.
