Tevez defies City and flies out to Argentina

I think its a good article, Tevez must be made to realise that no matter how many time's he trie's to manufacture's his exit, City will stand firm and not bow down to someone who has shown absolute contempt for this Club, and expects City to cave in and have a quick fire sale, so that he can go on and continue his selfish way of life....City needs to hit him hard with the means that speak to him, that says if you continue on like this towards us, we have the means that will make life very difficult for him.........

Some interesting points.

Although the comment about £25m representing good business depends on whether that is a net figure taking into account any compensation payable to Tevez for reduced earnings.
Payable by whom?

Chelsea's successful pursuit of Adrian Mutu for compensation

what the independent fails to point out is that chelsea have yet to receive a penny of the 17 million+ euros compensation awarded by fifa in 2008 because of repeated appeals launched by mutu & his lawyers. chelsea started the whole legal process as long ago as 2005 despite which mutu has been able to continue his playing career unhindered, currently turning out for cesena in serie a.

on this basis the tevez saga could run & run.

as long as he plays for some shit club on shit wages with his shit reputation being constantly hassled by our lawyers every step of the way then that sounds perfectly acceptable :-)

And it will, trust me. Think of the cost of the legal bills by Chelski so far going after Mutu and then the cost of us going after Tevez and you will be lucky if we break even.

I say simply terminate him for gross misconduct (not turning up for work repeatedly is as good as it gets) and then withold his registration to stop him playing for anyone........hell, i would even prevent him from kicking a ball against a wall in the street!

Him not playing for 2-3 years will see his weight and fitness balloon out of control and never play professional footbal again. The lets see how long his reported millions last him then....especially if we go after him for compensation as well.

He's fooked IMO whereas we are certainly not, his replacement is better, younger and will score more goals again IMO...

We should also try and offet his value when this started (40M?) against the FFPR and see what UEFA do with that.

Move on City - show our class!

How does the twat actually have left on his contract?

If he's got 2.5 years left thats a total of about 20 million quid. If we don't pay him and keep his registration (due to him refusing to come back) we may have lost out on a sale but still would have recouped 20 million in wages - plus the dirty little fucker along with his grubby agent won't be earning a bean.

I know this is simplistic but I can dream.

Just listening to Talksport's South American football expert Tim Vickery. Asked at the very end if he knew where Carlos was he said - "nobody knows but the Argentinian press have an interesting new story that Tevez will get a free transfer if he doesn't play 15% of City's games"...."that's a new one to me" said the Talksport "expert".

Unlike Talksport I had heard about this but how can this be possible in this situation. We can't play him even if we wanted to because he's fucked off to South America.

People hang onto the percentage of games played as if that is the be all and end all, which it most certainly isn't.

City have been in touch with FIFA about this, and as I understand it FIFA were sympathetic to the club's submission that the %age test could not be applied (or if applied, must be modified) when a player has, through his own actions, rendered himself unselectable.

Added to which, "sporting just cause" is not, and never has been, reducible just to the percentage point.
