Tevez [Merged]

I came here to check out what the latest news was on Carlos Tevez. Not to read sniffling dipperettes trying to downplay the obvious oncoming glory of City. You should be out working a second job and sending all the money you make to your team.

Other than that can someone please update this thread so I don't have to sift through page after page of crap.

Cmon, they dont even have a first job.

There is no indication that anyone except City and United are in for him. What is taking so long?

1. his loan contract with Rags is still live with a few days to run
2. he is in South America

I believe the extisting contract with ManUre as a clause with states that they can buy him for a fixed price unless someone bids higher (Man City) in which case ManUre must match this price to try and keep Tevez. Hence why the deal will not be announced until 1st July imho.

Tevez/advisors have agreed to come to Man City, this is all done apart from the Medical.

Bloody hell, this was 140 pages max last night I think when I went to bed. Now we're at 168 pages with nearly 30 of em devoted to taking the piss out of a scouser....surely that only takes one post and not 30 pages of em.....

Anyway, Tevez....hopefully he'll come and I dont buy the stories today that we're only one of a few clubs. Liverpool wont have bid and I doubt Chelsea have and since he wants to stay in the PRem......

Why would they risk not completing a medical prior to his involvement in the international matches?

Surely it would not be in the clubs interest to not take any risks with the player for the amount of money we will apparently be purchasing him for?

anyway, tevez. that article in the guardian. dodgy. so fecking much for any hope of a final answer this week.

URG said on Monday its possibly happening today!

No I didn't say this on Monday. I said "Just spoken to the same person who told me about Gareth Barry last week. Basically, Kia Joorabchian's lot are not saying whether a deal has been done or not...which apparently is how they operate (they are a shifty lot allegedly). I get the impression that City are or have been in talks with KJ & Tevez and my source says that if a deal has been done they weren't expecting an announcement until Thursday morning at the earliest. In short, it isn't known if Tevez has signed or not but my pal wouldn't be surprised if he had signed and it came out soon. So, nothing new or really exciting there."

In short, nothing was expected until after the internationals at the earliest. I've not heard too much since Monday to be honest. If there is a press conference at City today I would expect the journos there to mention Tevez...that should give us an indication of what is going on.

Having said all that, and what I am about to say is my opinion. I find it strange that if Tevez is staying at United that nothing has been said yet plus of course I haven't seen any newspaper reports saying Tevez is staying either. Tevez's agent has said he wants to stay in the Premiership and mentioned City, Chelsea and Liverpool. Liverpool are broke and can't afford Tevez's wages or fee. Does Chelsea want Tevez? I've not read anywhere that they have any serious interest in him. In my opinion (this is just my opinion) it's a straight race between Tevez staying or coming to City and I think City can offer him what he wants...a bit more cash in wages and regular first team football which seems to be one of the main motivating factors for him becoming disilluisoned at the rags.

The other thing is, and I'll back you up in what you just said URG, is three critical words you mentioned "At the earliest". That does not state that there will definately be announcement today in stone. Your last paragraph is an excellent point by the way.

When all terms were agreed tevez was fit and well, the deal cannot be finalised until end of ManUre contract, Tevez was involved in the international matches were he could have got injured, therefore there is no point in having a medical until the deal can be completed.
