If were waiting for this july 1st thing then i can't understand why united would want to continue paying him a wage if he has no intention of signing for them or has signed for someone else. surely they would be eager to get him off the wage bill asap.

Also i havnt heard sky or the papers say he cant be confirmed until july 1st, it just seems to be us guessing at that.

i thought he contract at united ends at 30th of June, thats why it would be announced on the 1st of july?

i only really see chelsea being challangers now to us signing him and we have a lot of advantages over them being we will offer a bigger contract and bigger wages first team football in a world cup year can.t see him getting it at chelsea with there forwards drogba, anelka, malouda, cole, kalou, his family don,t have to up root from the north west where his wife and daughter are said to be very setteled also his owners are gonna want the most money for him and know where they will get it!!

I don't believe in the july 1st thing, kia could have got him out of that earlier if he had chose his new club and united from a financial angle would be keen to save half a million quid.

It was a loan deal and by that diffinition a player can be called back from a loan at a club at any point should his parent club, or in this case owner, want him back. I am guessing that Kia did such a thing after the Champions League final, and infact Tevez is no longer being paid by the rags. I could be wrong but these people are not daft and the rags are no mugs (just the fans are).

they paid for the loan, he surely could not be called back?

teams can only do that if they specify that they want to be able to do it

and with teams paying money to loan people, they are not usually happy with it

so he wont have been able to call him back after they paid 6 mill or whatever for a set period

It does but what i mean is no one is really saying it cant be confirmed until then. There seems to be alot of confusion surrounding it. When talksport claimed hed signed they said it will be confirmed soon rather than, wont be confirmed until july 1st.

united would release him earlier if he said he wasn't signing as he is costing them BIG in wages. i don't think this is the reason as to why we haven't signed/announced him

Footballers wages do not work like those of us in the real world. This will not be a factor. IMO the rags are not causing a hold up here, but any number of other factors could be. None of which concern me.

If you think about it though perhaps the rags never envisaged this scenario where the player wished to leave due to lack of first team football opportunities prior to him signing. If you also think about it like this, he would have signed for them two years with the intention of it being made permanent thus the loan expiring the day before the day in which you can legally transfer the registration of the player to another football club. I imagine the intention was for it to expire the day before and the following day for them to take up the option almost intantaenously.

I'd also echo that it is between ourselves and Chelsea which to me swings it in our favour in terms of him enrolling the kids in a nearby school to his newly aquired Alderley Edge residence.

In terms of getting him off the wage bill, what's the point? They've paid to loan him until that period and though he would not play any more games for them, they might aswell draw it out. I don't think Carlos sees his future there though because they've not made the fuss over him that others (namely ourselves and Chelsea) would.

Tevez is the most aquirable superstar out there in terms of us having a realistic chance in completing the signing of him so it is absolutely essential to the project that we do so. If this one does not come off then I would not expect any 'superstars' of the same calibre of talent he possesses.
