this is from my source, who works for talk sport. I asked him if he had any info on Tevez.

From what im led to belive -

the deal was verbally agreed before Carlos went on international duty and it was a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's when he comes back.

BUT - the big teams in Europe are scrambling for the same stars and Utd are finding it difficult putting any deals together.

Ribiery is most likely to join Real Madrid with Robben going the other way, Benzema isn't keen to disrupt his career by moving abroad in a World Cup year and David Villa is also Real Madrid bound.

Utd are also concerned about paying an Agent £25million. Their checking with lawyers that under EU law the fact he has been full time for 2 years they can sign him in a bosman type deal and sidestep Kia Joorabachian but Carlos is unlikely to pursue that deal.

I expect him to sign for City but after Utd put a deal together for someone else.

why after Utd put a deal together for someone else?

its fuck all to do with them

My thoughts exactly. Just another load of bullshit heaped on to the pile they spouted last week!

at that point i dont think any one expected madrid to go for ronaldo so early on as this move has thrown a spanner in the works, how ever they are still confident that we will get him but untd are now looking at getting him for free.

IF this happens, surely its up to Carlos to tell them to get fucked?
They dont have a right to get him and make him sign a contract.

I understand points of that and others I do not, Tony. I can understand Carlos clinging onto the hope that he can sign for the rags permanently as they won the league last season and were in the European final, why wouldn't he?

But, and forgive me if I'm wrong because this is my interpretation, I cannot for one second see us twiddling our thumbs on this deal while the rags are setting up a deal for someone else? This does not show respect to Tevez does it? It's basically an admission that they'd see him signing for them as a 'second class' or 'second option' rather than first choice. Not a great way to reward him for the hard work and the important goals he scored throughout the two seasons is it?

I would not underestimate the feeling of who wants him more in this deal actually. I think the rags have been really, really disrespectful to him as both a player and a person and it would be a shame for him to remain thier actually - even from a neutral perspective viewing the situation. I would like him in city blue but even if he signed for someone else who would play him regularly and make him feel welcome, that would give me a bit less than equal amount of pleasure.

He's a really talented player and he's a first choice player, you don't stick someone like him on the bench in my opinion. He's far more than an 'impact sub'.

does anybody belive the " guardian "?

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/jun/14/carlos-tevez-manchester-united-sir-alex-ferguson" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009 ... x-ferguson</a>

Carlos Tevez is fed up with Manchester United and will not return next season• Argentinian is upset by Ferguson's team selections
• Manchester City offer 75% pay increase

if the rags find a loop hole to sign him on a bosman, then I can;t see what differance that would make to us.If they find a loop hole then we can use it.Instead of paying "his owners"25 mil or whatever it is,we can simply offer him 25mil as a signing on fee and still blow the rags out of the water...

And even if they do find a loophole, I doubt Tevez would want to sign a new contract with them anyway.

Kia and Tevez are good friends, so he would reject the Bosman as he would not want to betray his friend.

Correct. Although, I doubt that finance would come into it if he had the opportunity to sign on a permanent basis for the rags. I really think he wants to stay there as a first option, with us being his second. I know that sounds awful, but I bet it isn't far from the truth. The only problem is that I reckon that he's their second option and they're trying for another player like Samuel Eto'o or David Villa (ironically our targets also) but the latter may be RM bound despite the deal being broken off currently. You'd expect re-negotiation at some point in the not too distant future.

So they would force Tevez to sign for them even though they've messed him around? No chance.

Don't think they'd get him on a Bosman either (Kia would counter claim/sue United).

I'm optimistic that he's coming to us and that he's told Fergie to go fuck himself.
