united would release him earlier if he said he wasn't signing as he is costing them BIG in wages. i don't think this is the reason as to why we haven't signed/announced him

Footballers wages do not work like those of us in the real world. This will not be a factor. IMO the rags are not causing a hold up here, but any number of other factors could be. None of which concern me.

the other factors are they things like sorting out sponsorship deal - either paying them of and sorting out new ones or transfering them?

Thanks for that Manchester_City_Blue, that is basically the confirmation that he does not start his holiday prior to permanently signing on a long-term contract for his current or new football club, whichever the case may be. I'm glad that clarification has been posted.

No, more like timing of announcement, Tevez having been away and concentrating on Argentina. Us being involved in other negotiations and his agents also being involved in other things elsewhere (he's not there only client) and the fact that IMO the deal is done (in principal) so its been easy to keep the pressure off Tevez as he has requested while playing for his country. I would expect things to move along quite quickly now.

I've got the feeling that, although it feels like a long drawn out process / saga (delete as applicable), it will be resolved sooner rather than later. The player has previously expressed that he would sign for 'anyone who offered him a five-year-contract'. I cannot remember where I read it though but I have a feeling it was in a rant where he was disillusioned with the circumstances at the swamp i.e. fringe player.

If we can follow up the signing of a fully capped England international midfielder and the heartbeat of the Aston Villa team in Gareth Barry with a player who should have been the star of the show (with the important goals he scored for the rags) rather than the normally no-show then that is a hell of a statement of intent. What Carlos Tevez requires is a consistent run of games and he needs to be loved by the fans.

Should we sign him then I predict this will be the biggest mistake in all his transfer windows Whiskey Nose ever makes bar none.

this is from my source, who works for talk sport. I asked him if he had any info on Tevez.

From what im led to belive -

the deal was verbally agreed before Carlos went on international duty and it was a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's when he comes back.

BUT - the big teams in Europe are scrambling for the same stars and Utd are finding it difficult putting any deals together.

Ribiery is most likely to join Real Madrid with Robben going the other way, Benzema isn't keen to disrupt his career by moving abroad in a World Cup year and David Villa is also Real Madrid bound.

Utd are also concerned about paying an Agent £25million. Their checking with lawyers that under EU law the fact he has been full time for 2 years they can sign him in a bosman type deal and sidestep Kia Joorabachian but Carlos is unlikely to pursue that deal.

I expect him to sign for City but after Utd put a deal together for someone else.

why after Utd put a deal together for someone else?

its fuck all to do with them

at that point i dont think any one expected madrid to go for ronaldo so early on as this move has thrown a spanner in the works, how ever they are still confident that we will get him but untd are now looking at getting him for free.
