Tevez [Merged]

I just don't rate Lescott, personally would prefer his centre back partner Jagielka.

If he signs hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

That's fair enough and your opinion. I think he is a good solid defender who weighs in with a goal or two. Plus he is left footed which its obvious we have needed in the central def partnership for sometime. He can cover and even replace bridge at left back as well. I would be happier with Lescott behind rob personally.

He is an ever present in the prems 5th place side for the last two seasons and is an england albeit squad player. So Moyes rates him, Capello rates him and it would seem Hughes does too.

I'm probably judging my opinion too much on when I saw him for Wolves and in that England game against Croatia where him and Bridge were a horrorshow.

He's a goal threat which is an advantage, I'm just unsure on how capable he is as a defender.

rumours are rife that on the rags websites they are reporting tevez is staying
all this july 1st stuff bothers me. we could still have him sign pre contracts and announce it regardless of when his loan deal runs out. in my mind hes still undecided is still waiting for a better deal from the rags

What about Lescott at left back? He played there loads of times for Everton whilst Baines was out of favour, and i always thought he looked good there. He has a surprisingly good cross on him and is comfortable on the ball. He's also better at dealing with one-on-one's than Bridge and would stop more crosses from coming in. Ball's contract is not being renewed and Garrido may well be sold, so we could have Bridge and Lescott fighting it out for left back, whilst also having Lescott and Dunne as cover for Onuoha and Kompany. Zab and Micah to compete for right back. Is that a possible option? It's pretty much 2 players for every position.

He's impressed me more when I've seen him at left back tbh, like you said Trev he's got a decent cross on him and his link up play isn't half bad either.

He seems a little clumsy at centre back.

I doubt Capello and Moyes play him for his goal threat. I've watched him a couple of times last year and thought he looked solid. But there could equally be games i havent seen where he has looked suspect. I mean there are some games where you watch Dunne and think he is the worlds best defender and then some where he is all over the show.

The first thing to go when anyone genuinely gets information is the free money, and right now Skybet are still offering 7/1 on Tevez to stay at United. No way on earth would that price be there now if it had been decided he were staying. The best price on offer for him to come City is 8/11.
