Tevez [Merged]

Re: Is Tevez Really All That Important?

It's getting old when people keep misquoting that interview. Please, read it again.

Re: Is Tevez Really All That Important?

Yeah, he is.

I don't buy all this 'we'll be fine without him' bollocks.
When was the last time we had a striker as effective as him at this level? Way before my time definitely.
He might be selfish on the ball, but he isn't selfish with no end product, it's often the case that he's selfish and then bangs it in the bottom corner.
We could really do without losing him.

If we do lose him.
Cavani? Sanchez? Aguero - none of those 3 will replace what he does.

Bit of a rubbish argument asking who we had before him. We were never a viable prospect to any world class strikers before he came, now we are. He can be replaced. To be honest we don't even need to buy a striker if he goes. We could buy Sanchez and play with two wingers and let Dzecko bag all the goals that Tevez did

I'm simply saying he's the best player we've had in decades, why would anybody suggest he's not 'that' important.
And it's alright saying 'let Dzeko bag the goals', despite the fact I think he'll come good, to suggest he'll simply slot in and score 25 goals a season is a bit risky for my liking. And as for buying a replacement, I don't see too many suitable replacements on the market!

Re: Is Tevez Really All That Important?

Of course he is. Tevez is the only recognised world-class player that we have.

He is part of an elite band of players, confined to ten at most.

We attract good players if he stays, if he leaves, it sends out mixed messages of our ambition.

Difference between winning the league and finishing third or second.

Re: Is Tevez Really All That Important?

Not important to enough to put up with all his bullshit any longer. Sell him.

Re: Is Tevez Really All That Important?

There are very few players in world football that provide 25 league goals a year. However, we are approaching the time when he has to decide.

I think much of the speculation that surrounds him has been made up by certain media outlets with some sort of agenda, plus, I think our current management team are big enough to accept that this sort of BS goes with the territory.

We will miss him should he leave, hopefully he will stay.

What did the interview actually say?

That he wouldn't come back to Manchester after he's either left us, or his contract has run out. "Not even on Holiday!", like anyone comes to Manchester on Holiday anyway, it's a complete non-comment.

Oh, that interview. He does'nt like manchester because he can't speak English. If he learned the language he'd settle down and find it decent.
