Tevez officially not going to Corinthians

It's perhaps not beyond the realms to estimate Tevez is worth thick end of £30m in folding.

Joorabachian certainly has the means.

If the supposed hitch was an initial frontloaded payment of £10m, then surely such is the desire of his camp, it is not difficult to stand Corinthians the money, themselves?

After all, they would have been reimbursed in January, as per the proposal to City.

But the alleged inclusion of the no-resale to a European club (without a sell on % to us) possibly didnt fit in with the 'Joorabachian master plan'.....

H'mmmmm..............

Agree.... but was this a serious proposition..

Mancini needs to speak to Tevez directly... not via his reps....

He can't as he only has one number for him and he does not answer :D

We are in the drivers seat here regarding Tevez, i can not see a club paying close to 50 million for a striker who in two years time will be very close to 30, and has a record for not sticking around long and wants to return to south america so i can see us getting one more season out of tevez and then sold for 29+million. I can see tevez and Ageuro forming the best partnership in Europe but we need to offload ade, crocky, bridge, Bellamy, and the rest of the deadwood, this would easily fund Agureo and would help the wage bill dramatically as the nasri deal looking less likely that would be the end off our summer spending.

The only problem with him staying anonther year is the fact he could then use Article 17 and buy out the remainder of his contract:

Part of Fifa's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, Article 17 grew out of European Commission regulations on freedom of movement for workers and allows footballers to break their contract once a "protected period" has expired.

For those younger than 28 when they signed their contract, they must be three years into their deal - the 28 and overs can use it after just two years.

It does not act as a get out of jail free card though - the player must pay compensation to their club which is worked out based on wages and their original transfer fee. But since their new club can get them for no official transfer fee, they should not be short of a bob or two to pay their previous employers.

Players must give notice that they plan to use Article 17 within 15 days of the final league game of the season.

But we refuse to have anything to do with Tevez's camp, certainly Kia.

I think City have known all along that this was a no-goer, but decided to call Corinthians' bluff, all the same, just in case they somehow scraped it together.

Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if we still hear a dramatic late twist/counter proposal later tonight.

If nothing more, so Corinthians can demonstrate to their fans that they weren't the ones to let them down.

Their non-aggressive statement towards the collapse of the deal, suggested another bite at the cherry, whether tonight or on the off chance Tevez is not sold elsewhere.

I thought this also, the whole situation in general was just a tad odd. I really think that City called their bluff.

I just don't want an unhappy player at the club, i understand his issues and i hope he resolves them. But unlike last year, i do not fear his departure. If he is here next year and willing to play like he usually does then i will still cheer him on.

I just hope Vinny is captain.

Didnt exactly help himself when he said he would not even return back to Manchester on vacation. If he does come back ill also still cheer him as long as he is still performing on the pitch, i think he will get a lot of stick though for his comments and attitude if he does end up staying.

He said that once he leaves City he won't be returning to Manchester on holiday. Why would you expect a multimillionaire from South America to spend his summer hols in Manchester? No one else does.
