Whilst I don't want to enter into the Tevez debate I have to say something about this. No it is not. Not to
everyone, even if it is to you. People that have no kids or do not want kids couldn't give a toss really. When you (or your partner) are pregnant and then have babies, it is a big deal to you, but not to your friends who get bored silly listening to long procrastinating stories then end with no punch line.
I am sick of parents who, lets face, have sex and end up with a sprog, making out it is some massive acheivement. Well done, you have done something each and everyone of your ancestors also found easy enough to do along with half the current crop of teenage slags.
ps - I actually agree with you about Tevez, just not about parenting being the "be all and end all".
