Thank You Ederson Moraes

He wasn't the best goalkeeper but he was the right goalkeeper. Influential to Pep delivering his philosophy. cheers Eddie
Well put, totally agree ...

He had his flaws, like they all do ... could be a bit over confident at times, a bit hasty at others, but he was absolutely the right guy to play Pep's system and brand of football effectively.

Revolutionary. Rewrote a position. What a legacy.

One of our most decorated players ever. Sad to see him go but he's clearly wanted a change for 12 months so he leaves with my gratitude and best wishes. A legend.

We think he’s fuckin brilliant!
Played one of the key roles in our best ever era. City legend. Good luck ed

An all time great, who redefined what it is to be a goalkeeper. So intrinsically linked to our success was he, that we really noticed when he wasn't there. Time catches up with everyone eventually and while it's impossible to replace like for like, he was a one off! We have signed someone that in lottery situations, where small margins make the difference (and have cost us in recent seasons), we now have that presence covered.

Don’t care what anyone thinks media included this fella was head shoulders above other keepers, the whole playing out from the back had people thinking and talking what the fuck is this, then his long precision kicks at times wow, other keepers were the equivalent of a analogue phone Ederson was cutting edge smart phone..

Used to piss me off sometimes but he is a legend and an icon. Good luck Eddy

Another legend departs!

It can’t be overstated how integral Eddie has been to all our recent success.

He was central to the way we played, and completely revolutionised the role of the keeper in English football.

When he arrived, playing out from the back was laughed at as an absurdist European conceit that would never work in England - now, every team in the League plays that way.

His ice cold calmness under pressure was a thing to behold, drawing opposition players onto him like moths to a flame - which created all the space we needed for our dazzling army of attacking talent to shine.

He’s a unique keeper - irreplaceable in terms of his specific combination of skills - and we won’t be the same team without him.

That’s evolution though, and the time was clearly right as he’d made the decision to take on a fresh challenge - but we will forever look back on his time at the Club as a golden era of unparalleled success.

He was our keeper when we won the lot.

I wish him all the best for the rest of his career, but he’ll always be a Blue to me.

Absolute fucking legend. Loved the guy from the very start for us. He was so, so, so good at what Pep needed from a keeper - midfielder who could save some shots, but he wouldn't have to save a lot due to our possession football. Pep needed something absolutely unique and this was the only guy who could do it.

100% pivotal to every bit of success we've had with Pep.

All the best to him. I liked him more than Yaya and that's saying something.

Thank you and all the best Eddie. A model of consistency over many years from the ultimate 'Mr. Cool' but THAT save in the last minute of the CL Final....!!! Thanks again

Very grateful for what he did and sad to see him leave. I think his departure has really brought home that we are seeing the end of an era and that we now have to embrace a new one.

Yes I agree. His departure seems like a definite end of an era.

With Ederson, Gundo and KDB all departing in one transfer window it really feels as if we have lost the last members of the most successful team in our club’s history.
Along with Aguero,Kompany and David Silva they have been magnificent long term servants to the club and their departure marks the end of an era the likes of which I don’t believe we will see again.
Like many here I feel a deep seated sadness to see these great players and probably even more importantly great men leaving a club for which they clearly have a great deal of love.
I know sentiment should never be part of football but as a fan it’s impossible to ignore. Let’s hope the new generation settles in quickly and I am certain we will give these guys the welcome they deserve back at the Etihad when they return wearing the opposition shirt.
Fucking legends all of them.
Good luck to them.
