It's a shame thats now three legends Sergio, silva & ilkay who are leaving without any proper farewell
Disagree mate… he plays the game at his own pace and never looks flustered. He looked to be at his peak and I think he would have done another 3 years in the PL. He’s a huge loss, an irreplaceable one, but I’m sure we’ll adapt and move on. Truly gutted to see him go, but I wish him well.
Kovacic is still at his peak and hungry for success. His more physical attributes might also be better suited to our needs.I don’t quite understand this.. we didn’t want to spend the money to match Barca’s contract for gundog but surely if gundog stays we wouldn’t have needed to spend £30m on kovacic.. why not just pay the extra on the contract and don’t sign kovacic?

I'm not convinced,I think it's the best decision for all.Seems like a gamble to me. He’s quite injury prone. Keeping gundo would’ve meant it was business as usual again next year.
And up steps Philip Walter ‘Ronnie’ Foden. It’s a dark day again, another legend leaves, and we step into the unknown, not knowing who will replace him or what’s to come.
Gundogan came to us almost as a squad player, in a time where Fernandinho, David Silva and KDB were the top picks.
In 18/19 when Fernandinho was injured, we got the first glimpse of his extraordinary tenacity, which propelled us to a remarkable 14-game winning streak, successfully fending off the advances of Liverpool. It was at this point that the majority now began to comprehend the true extent of his abilities.
When David Silva departed us, there was a collective anxiety. As no one could see how anyone could possibly fill that void. Foden was often touted as a potential successor, but few foresaw Gundogan as the one to step up to the plate. But his controlling of the game in the midfield, had become David Silva esq. While he lacked Silva's innate talent for unlocking defenses in the same way. Gundogan more than compensated for it, with his exceptional proficiency in finding the back of the net, especially in those big moments.
Gundogan has emerged as one of Europe's finest midfielders in recent seasons, deserving recognition, as one of the finest midfielders, to ever grace our club.
We wish him well, and again we’re left wondering who can fill that void now?
