What does the article say about Pep.
Just that he wanted him to stay. But Pep is a pro and a realist, whilst he may have been disappointed I'm sure he understands the greater goals the club has and why sometimes hard decisions need to be made. His employers have shown time after time that invariably they make the right decisions at the right times and on their terms rather than being forced into something that detracts from the clubs strategic direction.

When you signed, I didn't expect you to become what you have become, but I was wrong, you became a legend. It was not easy for you or for the club on that road, but you did it and the club did,you became a legend and the club grew into one of the best in the world. When it was difficult you step up you leaded team, you lead them into battles as a captain and you were a real captain, no one will forget that you were the one who conquered England, conquered Europe, lifted the treble, created history as a captain. Thank you for everything whenever I hear your name in future I will smile with happiness because I know how happy you have made me and millions of others around the world. Take care legend.

I do think that wife of his has a lot to do with the decision. Am sure it won't be long before she is complaining about the food in Barcelona....

Possibly but reading his official farewell letter (https://www.theplayerstribune.com/p...-city-premier-league-la-liga-barcelona-soccer) it does seem he had a life long dream to play for Barca so maybe don't put too much weight on the tabloid gossip & clickbait headlines.

We probably need to accept no matter how much financial turmoil Barcelona are going through its still a club/brand that holds affinity with the pros.

Must say his letter was very poignant & what you expect from him describing his entire life cycle with us. As suspected, he confirmed this was a perfect time for him to leave the club on top much like Vinny did previously.

Thanks Ilkay for the big time moments & one of the best goals I've witnessed with that amazing strike against United in the FA Cup final.
