Thank you Riyad Mahrez | Officially left City (pg17)

An immensely talented player who contributed a lot to the recent successes but rather like Nasri he could have me tearing my hair out on a bad day. Good luck to him, £30m is a decent enough fee for a 32 year old and he gets a good payday out of it.

What a player, ridiculous touch, could score from angles that aren't geometrically possible. Equally capable of holding onto the ball too long or passing sideways - which tbf seemed a deliberate tactic in recycling possession.

Didn't get the love that his goals and assists deserved, made a huge contribution to our continued success, capable of ridiculous things on the pitch, good luck Riyad, thanks for everything.

For that goal you smashed in against Brighton on the last day of the season right in front of us - thank you - that will never be forgotten.
That goal deserves a lot more recognition than it gets in my opinion. The game was on a knife-edge at 2-1 with half an hour still to play and that Mahrez goal killed Brighton off and settled everyone's nerves. Not to mention it was a sublime piece of skill followed by a great strike.

He struggled to adapt in his first season because what Pep wanted from him was very different to the role he had at Leicester where he was free to express himself a lot more. That goal signalled the end of a tricky adaptation period and the start of five very successful years at City.

A frustrating player at times but worth the admission money to witness his sublime first touch , the best i have seen at controlling a football , he has scored many big goals for us and has deserved and earned every medal he has won. Obviously gone for his last big pay cheque and who can blame him, like all our ex-players he will be welcomed back no matter what shirt he is wearing , thank you Riyad it has been (mostly) a pleasure watching your work.

Thanks Riyad for all the memories! He won us many many games on his own. He was probably planning to finish his career at City but life presented him with an opportunity that is hard to pass up.

All in all a happy ending for both him and City. We will miss you!

We extended as we wanted him to play for us for longer.

Unfortunately this Saudi gold rush has took him, which I doubt was in Pep’s plans.

£30 million is fair given age etc.

Let’s hope we replace well.

We’re certainly bringing down the age profile of the squad at present.

Thanks Mahrez, you are a better player then a lot of non City fans will appreciate.

Bar Salah, best RW in the division (based on Bernardo/ Foden not being more attacking right).
