Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

He was perfect for that moment in time but that goal from Sergio made his legacy when let’s face it for the most important game we were inert but I level a similar criticism of Pep for the CL game but with the backdrop of the stuffings we hand out to sides, the titles and records, as I was trying to say in my post earlier be careful what you wish for.
I’m wishing for Pep to be coach for yonks to come because that will mean we are having continued success, as well as still playing great football.

Thought this for a long time, you could see him realise it in his first couple of seasons here. That’s how he became one of us, seeing the injustice.

It’s why I really didn’t like the reaction to what he said after the Leipzig game tbh. He’s represented us brilliantly numerous times over the years and taken a fair amount of abuse personally from the media and other fans for misinterpreting his comments, the last thing he deserved was some city fans doing it too.

I still feel privileged to be able to watch my team being coached by one of the best that has ever been. When I hear him speak about us on top of that though, it makes me love him even more.

It was nice hear him bring it up, although in a non rant way. I just think the club should unleash hell at times, on and off the pitch as some of the corrupt decisions against us. We are far too timed on and off the pitch, making it easy for officials to not give decisions to us. We should be appealing and shouting for everything, in the refs face after major incorrect decisions.

The very least the club should be doing tomorrow is asking for a written explanation as to why Var did not step in the the Foden shout in the first half and why Milner did not get a 2nd yellow.

Good on Pep, said after the match Pep needs to bang on about this in the media way after everybody's bored with it, bring it up in every single press conference even with no context.

I love peps obvious hatred for the candle worshippers it's Bernardo levels but he has to be a bit more tactful about it. do wish he would hate united as much as he clearly hates Liverpool.

Anyway, I trust the Premier league will be issuing a statement before tomorrow that explains exactly why James milner received 1 yellow card from 3 yellow card offences.

“Milner should have received a second yellow but didn't. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola suggested in his post-match interview that he wasn't surprised by the referee's decision, after all it was Anfield. It's true and it used to happen in my day and it's time it stopped.”

well said Garth Crookes

VAR can't step in on that, was outside the box.

I think the refs probably left that to play out and wait for var to review if it's a foul and in the box, it's the easy thing to do. whilst it isn't right it is kind of understandable.

It's one of the parts of the game that make little sense under the current rules. Why can't var be looking at that as play goes on and suggest a card, which can be brandished when play next stops. it doesn't stop the game. Refs are human, they'll naturally play safe when they have var to fall back on, if var hadn't been there he makes that decision straight away gives a foul and a yellow.
