Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

Is it really bias though or corruption. I get how a ref can be swayed by a crowd but that doesn't stand up when there's a whole var team in his ear
As other posters have said, refs would be hounded by the media If they gave big decisions against the rags and Dippers. I think it’s more likely that they are swayed by the media and football brands

The media are complicit with their corruption hence why the red shirts have the protection they have from both refs and media. The same way politicians use the media

They’ve never shown any interest in Anthony Taylor claiming to be an “Altrincham fan”. Taylor may well be corrupt if it’s true he’s a rag.

If they do charge pep then we very loudly and very publicly request the audio from the ref and var, before responding to the charge.

If anyone brought the game into disrepute yesterday it was the referee. His inability to handle the match or the atmosphere led to tensions rising, a booking for our coach and directly affected the result.

If they want to poke the bear then we call them out big time. At best you can say the referee and var both made a mistake on the same incident, at worst you can say this is the latest in a line of odd decisions, ranging from incorrect throw in calls to the way city are invited to play on when our ankles are tapped and the offence often forgotten when against us the free kick and yellow is immediate, the fact assistant referees frequently flag our players off in the build up before an outcome is realised but for other teams don't until the passage of play is over, which all indicates a conscious effort to officiate Manchester City differently.

I suspect there is more chance Tierney will be rested for a round than Pep charged. But luckily there is an international break next, just what everyone wants, and ideal to help everyone forget the recent controversy.

I think everyone secretly knows that strange things happen at OT & Anfield, but don't want to admit it, or more likely don't care. It's often put down to their " incredible intimidating home support", that no other clubs can match, apparently (Theatre of Dreams, This is Anfield, unique European nights, etc, etc).

“Milner should have received a second yellow but didn't. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola suggested in his post-match interview that he wasn't surprised by the referee's decision, after all it was Anfield. It's true and it used to happen in my day and it's time it stopped.”

well said Garth Crookes
Neville said exactly the same in commentary, that they allowed him to be subbed before he was shown a red.

Cheating, straight from the horses mouth.

Reminds me of a Chelsea game at home where everything rolled up into one game. Fabregas committed 15 fouls that game without a booking and was still there at the end to get Dinho sent off. Like it or not, Chelsea are now part of the 'elite' too as their last 3 games against us proves.
