Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

Similar to the spurs back who should have been sent off for multiple yellows but not only stayed on the pitch but ended up getting man of the match award
The frequency with which City players pick up yellow cards compared to the team they are playing can only be described as 'stark'! Pep is absolutely right when he describes a situation that has just occurred in one of our games and makes it clear the sanction within the LotG would be applied to our player but opposition players are given the extra chance! The yellow cards add up and we lose a player for a match whereas the opposition are laughing all the way to their training ground.

This is not without precedent either, remember Graham Poll (f###ing arsehole) giving three yellow cards to one Croatian player at the 2006 world cup.
See , Tierney, you should have done the same.
Yes Graham Poll was as the song goes. I got carried away in the Utd end at the Derby when Poll sent off Corradi. I left my seat and ran down the steps to criticise Poll. The thick rags thought I was slaughtering Corradi and applauded me back to my seat.

Well I’m sure Liverpool FC will condemn the fans’ behaviour and vow to stamp this sort of thing out.

Like they did after the homophobic chants at Norwich

Like they did after the homophobic chants against Chelsea

Like they did for the behaviour all over the city during lockdown

Like they did for the fountain pushing

Like they did for the attack on our bus

Like they did for the attack on an ambulance against United
They are scum and always will be. I’ve not been back to Anfield since 81 when they smashed our coach up in the league cup semi final which they won. Hate the fuckers !!

We were discussing this before the match. How many horrendously bad decisions have we had against that lot in the last five years or so? The foul on Sterling in the box in the last 10 mins of the CL QF at Anfield could have changed the whole tide of the tie, Sane's goal in the second leg likewise, the two Trent Alexander Arnold hand balls in the 3-1, the Milner foul on Sterling below and the officials didn't let us down yesterday as Milner should have also been booked in the first half. I've never been an agenda theorist, but some of these decisions have been that bad they're making me think twice.

No penalty
Don't forget the Micah Richards "handball" off his knee by Big Fat Phil. The Skrtel punching the ball away at arms length was an absolute beauty too. Plus Suarez's blatant dive whilst on a yellow at a time when bookings for diving were at their peak. There are certainly many more which I can't remember off the top of my head.

Not forgetting the contentious yellow for Cancelo. He might have been able to put in more of a challenge on Salah.

its the little details like Cancelo yellow card that when you look back on shows the referee control the game for liverpool ? if he did his job proper then city win the game hands down.. i will say city have learnt the lessons in not letting it get to us the (players). they shown so much fight in getting a draw that others would have just crumbled and by lost 4 or 5..

that is the sort of damage the officials have at anfield and before you know it your 3 down ? losing your head is part of the trick liverpool use on you with the referee with games vs manchester city in the past.. KDB said it in the after interview on city tv (you can be 3 down before you know i)

Very true Ancoats. The players kept their focus really well. In contrast, we’ve let Anthony Taylor get to us too much in the past and it’s cost us in several games.

Chelsea at home was probably the best example of this. How Fern didn't snap Fabregas in half is beyond me.

I've seen it in other games too where the ref gets in the way of our players runs, or blocks the passing channel. You can physically see the players heads drop. There are games when we are quite clearly and obviously playing 11 against 12.
