Thanks Pep for calling out the ref (and Liverpool fans)

Henderson has anger management issues he never stops swearing in games he is going to blow one day 12 match ban looming though in a post match interview Klopp was asked about a comment he made Klopp noted he had the brains not his captain

The thing that bloody annoys me as much as anything is when refs, instead of booking a player a second time for an offence that is meant to be sanctioned, gives them a wee 'lecture'! WTF is s/he saying to the assassin? Are they explaining what the LotG require and if they are to repeat they will be booked, again? Why? Why do players need to have anything about foul play explained to them? It's another bloody fudge by a ref who seems to think that if he's frugal with the cards it's a measure of control. The control lies in the fuckin' cards, yer pillocks!
he doesnt want tyler going on and on how it was a great game till the ref spoiled the show

Well I’m sure Liverpool FC will condemn the fans’ behaviour and vow to stamp this sort of thing out.

Like they did after the homophobic chants at Norwich

Like they did after the homophobic chants against Chelsea

Like they did for the behaviour all over the city during lockdown

Like they did for the fountain pushing

Like they did for the attack on our bus

Like they did for the attack on an ambulance against United
In case no one has mentioned it.
The ammonia attack on Atkinson and his retinue as they were entering Anfield.

I agree, why do they also waste time explaining to defenders they need to keep their arms down when standing in a wall and telling goalkeepers to remain on the line for penalties. Also before corners to stop pushing in the box.

These are professional footballers, if they need the LOTG explaining to them they should not be on the pitch.

The frequency with which City players pick up yellow cards compared to the team they are playing can only be described as 'stark'! Pep's is absolutely right when he describes a situation that has just occurred in one of our games and makes it clear the sanction within the LotG would be applied to our player but opposition players are given the extra chance! The yellow cards add up and we lose a player for a match whereas the opposition are laughing all the way to their training ground.
That’s where the skullduggery starts, in small ways, a missed yellow here or there, a soft one given to Joao (who now can’t tackle with conviction) and Salad has free reign to run at him. Milner should’ve been sent off in the first half never mind get to the ridiculous tackle in the second, I really don’t know how our lads keep their cool sometimes, I’d be all for Ferna coming on with minutes to go and dishing out a few equalisers, who was the last player we had sent off for violent conduct? it’s got to the point where we may as well have a right go

It's because they have to draw the line somewhere.

To look at the Bernardo/Milner tackle means looking at every single foul/potential foul by a player already on a yellow and deciding if it's worth another yellow.

If you think about most matches, then it's maybe 1-2 penalty decisions, and a red card decision every few matches.

Given that the standard for giving a yellow is much lower than a red, then checking all potential second yellows would be MANY times that number of VAR decisions.
But it was a second yellow,so potentially a red.
Just opinion, there's no difference in looking at a straight red and a second yellow.

When it comes to knowledge of the LotG, and let's be quite frank about it, they are probably one of the simplest set of laws connected to any major sport, the finest PiGMOL can muster will know them off by heart, inside out, back to front, and the right way round. If you came up with any scenario that could happen in a football match they would know what Law has been infringed and what sanction the LotG require to be delivered. And yet we see, week in week out, game in game out, referees ignoring the very instances outlined by the LotG as infringements. Why does it happen? The only satisfactory explanation and one which I could accept is that they were 'unsighted', but then we have flag-waving jokers to help and assist, plus another whistling wanker loitering between the technical areas, and then we have football's version of Hawkeye, video assistance. Why then do we witness, City fans more than most I suspect, referees blatantly ignoring what is written within the published LotG! Mike Reilly needs to address this without coming out with mealy-mouthed platitudes.
The game is owned by SKY and they get what they want. Referees are accountable to their paymaster and no one else. Their revenue is determined by the hoards of armchair fans who have to have their "fix". The game was lost when the PL was established to enable the money to be distributed as the top "history" decided it should be.

Spurs away. Liverpool away. Two games already this season where refereeing has arguably had an impact on the result. Aresenal at home. Referee applies the law.
