Mixed feelings on Yaya, 8 seasons he has been here it’s felt like he only turned up for the first 4.

A lot of people talk about the fa cup semi final as one of his greatest moments for us. My favourite was Newcastle away in 2012 when Mancini unleashed him with the usual getting De Jong on the pitch. He bagged that first and we all knew we had the momentum to go lift the trophy on the final day of the season.

He was unplayable when we lifted the trophy again in 2014, Crystal Palace away bulldozing forward to score and set one up for Dzeko. Knew we were back in the hunt again.

I don’t know if it was Yaya’s fault or Pelllegrini’s that we never saw him go near those standards. We seemed to really go backwards after 2014 and Pellegrini kept playing him in a 2 man midfield and we would get destroyed through Yaya’s lack of work rate off the ball.

The cake gate saga really blotted his copy book and really we should have cashed in when his stock was high in hindsight as we didn’t achieve anything since 2014 until now.

A giant of a player in the early years and a shadow of a player ever since. Will be sorely missed and hope he can pop up and score in the next few games to sign off with.

Hi
Thanks for this review of Yaya’s time with City. It really sums up everything I think and feel about him.
It will be difficult for me on Wednesday v Brighton wanting to thank him for his attitude and performances during the first four years but resentful about his last four seasons and the way he has attacked the club (albeit with the help of his agent) and brought disrespect on the on the club with incidents including cake and family.
On the whole, I am grateful for the first part of his stay with us but I believe that he shouldn’t be considered a real legend because of the other off field issues. I am glad he came but also glad he is going.

Will free up a place in the squad for someone who can contribute rather than not being anywhere near the first 11.

was key to the beginning of Sheikh Mansour era..... key in the 1st 2 league wins ...FA Cup of course

and even now in this season....you can discount how is experience and value he would be sharing with the younger lads

One hell of a player. Agent a total cock! The power was incredible. Last few years a shadow but the memory of him coming up with the goods at key moments.. wow! Good luck to him

People always forget he went off injured after Zaba goal v QPR and that was probably the main reason we turned to shit in the second half. A fantastic player in his prime, will never forget that goal,v Sunderland in the cup final. Thanks for the memory's big man
