Thanks Yaya

Imagine if we have him now during his prime. One of the best players to ever wear the shirt, arguably the best. Man mountain.

Yaya rarely wastes a chance. For several years a free kick within 30 yards was a virtual pen. In terms of striking a dead ball, no-one better - Koeman standard. Striking a moving ball - Stoichkov standard (but without the Stoichkov temperament probs). Running at a packed defence - sometimes like 21 year-olds against 14 year-olds - Jona Lomu-esque. His magic moments in the cups go without saying and will live with us forever.

Watched a few clips of him today and one thing that struck me was his pace over the first couple of yards. Perhaps it's partly to do with the length of his gait, but opponents always seemed to be on the back foot from the moment he took a couple of steps. Much is often made of his long lung-bursting runs, but it was his acceleration over the first yards that allowed him to put his sizeable frame between the opponent and the ball; game over thereafter.

Without his goals in the FA cup win in 2011 we could have remained a Spurs type. That changed the club and he just got better and better. Biggest impact of a player in our rise to where we are now

quick, we need to get a giant cake.
We need to get him a massive cake . Although on 100 grand plus or whatever he should actually buy every season ticket holders one.

Hope his send off goes well and his agent doesn't spit the dummy out again for something that in the real world WE all live in is minor.

Yaya was the one player I really really wanted all those years ago, could never understand anyone questioning his talent or what he would bring, it was absolutely obvious to anyone with a modicum of football intelligence, a colossus, a one off and it'll be a long time we someone of his ability again, thank you Yaya, it's been a pleasure to watch you play football.

There is no other player in the world like him. No one does what he does he is and always will be a ONE of a kind. Thanks Yaya for the joy and the moments of sheer delight. We will never see the likes again

End of a very special city career, the worlds best at what he did & we were so lucky to have him, totally unplayable & such a big game player, thanks yaya memories a plenty ctid

Properly loved playing against the rags as well. Didn't give a shit who history said they were.

Yaya on the charge: one of the greatest sights in my football lifetime. Good luck to a legend.

We just need a few samples of his penalty taking DNA and inject it into Sterling and Jesus. If he's going to leave anything behind it should be that.

100% A CITY LEGEND

Sure, he,s got baggage, and a prick of an agent, but take those away and what we have enjoyed is a player who bought into our clubs ambitions, and was absolutely immense. On his day he was unplayable, and with a goal repertoir to match the best ever. Thanks Yaya, and good luck to you in whatever you do. My fave goal of his was that one away at palace, couple of one/twos from inside his own half, lung bursting run while fending challenges off, then a super cool finish. Maybe not the most important, but one that shows how good he was, would love to see a clip if anyone knows how to upload it.

There was a season where he really was one of the best in the world. Superb prem player over the years
