Thanks Yaya

In some ways it is good that he hasn't had the media pounce on this game tonight, the fans and yaya can celebrate the way they want as soon as he walks out on the pitch. We don't want the glamour and glitz, Yaya we know what you are and all you stand for.

I'm 20 minutes into that video and it just makes you laugh at anyone who's ever been called "the next Yaya" or even compared to him.

I've never seen any player like him, he had the dribbling ability of a winger, the build of a CB, the vision of a number 10, the finishing of a striker and the control and passing of a world class holding midfielder.

Completely and utterly unique.
That just says it all. Good luck Yaya.

I remember that Rovers game well. Absolutely bouncing under the stands before kick off. We have a lot to thank Yaya for.

Goal v the rags in the semi
Goal v Newcastle away
Goal v Sunderland (LC Final)
Goal v Villa

Just some of his most memorable for us.

10 goals a season from 2010 - 2015, including 24 in the 2014 season. 79 goals*, 50 assists, 3 league titles, 1 FA Cup and 3 League Cups.

Some of his little chip/lob passes and his pitching wedge free kicks have been sublime. Some of his bombarding runs forward have been unstoppable.

On his day, one of the best players we have ever seen

I'll be fickle and forget his more recent performances as time has clearly taken it's toll on his ability to drive forward.

*I got these numbers off his Transfermarkt page.

He still managed to put the pitching wedge on to the head of Jesus against Swansea 2 weeks ago.

David Silva has the longevity, but I think some fans need reminding that in 2013/14 Yaya scored 20 league goals. To put that in perspective, KDB had 8. And he was so much more than a goal-scoring midfielder.

The only thing missing from his City career was that at his peak, City were a joke in europe and he never established himself as a player to be feared in the Champions League for City. It took City too long to get to grips with the competition.

All top players have an ego but listening to Yaya these last few days, he makes it sound like it's all about him, even now.

He helped carry us for three seasons, I would argue the Club have carried him these last four years.

Quite right, reading his quotes today and it would seem he played every team on his own. Seems pretty selfish.

Yaya took the free kicks and penalties IIRC so hard to compare the goal stats.

Thanks for the memories Yaya.
Yaya certainly knows how to wind up Utd fans - his interviews in the press today are proof of that.

Just musing............How about a massive Cake being trundled onto the centre of the pitch - like the Cake in "Under Siege" -
maybe "not politically correct" for Jordan Tate to give Yaya a kiss,...........lol

Absolutely, great pass but overall his performances in the last 2-3 years haven't been as good as those that preceded it. Circumstances and age have influenced that, and it doesn't take away from the fact he's one of the best players to ever grace a City shirt.

Yeah, I got that impression too. However, he is popular with those who know him, so may be he isn't as egotistical as we think.
