That bad refereeing decision could have cost us 4th spot!

and that miss by Fuller in the spurs game could have cost us 4th an all. Lots of things could but the facdt is WE are in control and WE will be responsible.

Haven't seen either but Fred Eyre on GMR said both were nailed on penalties. But then, he's the most negative, miserable blue I've ever heard. Worse than most on here, even
The man needs to sack it now. He must be the only blue on the planet who thinks that was a penalty......As a last resort I listen to the radio and if I do it's Hinchy on 1152.
They had the rags game on!

They didn't.....maybe that was Key 103.

I keep harping on about the fact that the FA want Liverpool in the Champs League due to them being more marketable than us, Spuds or Villa due to them having more global fans. BUT the ref waved away their nailed on pen later on so that theory is obviously wrong!

And yet again I scream into the ether; "the laws of the game state that it's not handball unless it's deliberate!" So it wasn't 'nailed on', regardless of how many times penalties have been incorrectly given under the same circumstances.

Stopped listening to GMR because of him,how hes kept that job?

Me too, can't listen when he's on he's a grade A tit!

You couldn't blame the ref. The linesman gave it. He just backed his linesman. That's what all good refs do.

could be wrong but isnt the rule hand to ball is a penalty doesnt need to be deliberate?

I can't stand him as a broadcaster. Never, ever has anything positive to say and seems to revel in picking on individuals. But he has his fans on here, bizarrely.
Obviously missed his fawning over Johnson the other week then. I think he's one of the best around and tells it like it is.

-- Mon Mar 22, 2010 9:21 am --

i disagree. Hand ball does not have to be 'deliberate'. If the ball hits a hand and the player gains an advantage (control/deflection/save) then it's a free kick/pen. Just as the ball can strike a hand and NOT be a foul.

now where's me rule book..

The main thing of concern is why we were hanging on after dominating for an hour. The penatly that got them into it, you have seen them given, you have seen them not given, there is no consistency. I saw it on TV this morning and it looked very very harsh, more os a shoulder than arm. I would say Kompany's was more of a penalty, which shows the inconsistancies.

I think the linesmen are even worse than the refs this year. None of them can seem to keep up with play and how many offsides have you seen given when in fact the player was onside.

There is a total lack of consistency from refs though. Look at the sending off at Arsenal over the weekend and tell me how is that different to Vidic in the cup final where no booking was given.
We all know about Gerrad week in week out, what about the 2 spurs players putting hands on each other v Stoke, ref didnt see it, would have been 2 reds (will the FA step in, will they fuck).

We do seem to have had more bad than good decisions this year, some very harsh sendings off and the last Ade ban is laughable as worse happens in most games thats not given.

Overall, still in our hands, 2 home games coming up now, Liverpool and Spurs have highly winnable games also, but Villa going to Chelsea. So if we can pick up 6 (4 isnt a disaster) from our next 2 games, and Villa lose to chelsea its all to play for still.

The great weekends will be when we have Utd, Spurs have Chelsea Away, and following week we have Arsenal and Spurs have Utd at home. Exciting times

The ball looked like it hit Barry on the chest, possibly on the shoulder but no way a penalty especially considering the ball was smacked at him and he had his arms by his side! That got Fulham back into the game and thanks to De Jong and SWP (who is showing us presently just how right the City backroom staff are in what they are offering him, perhaps a little too much if anything!) missing their chances it made for a very uncomfortable finish which could have ended up being 2-2!

That said, it didn't and we won! Stand out performances for me were Vieira, Tevez and Zaba!

FFS BTB.... chill.

This is football and we get wrong decisions going in our favour as well... for example Kompanys hand ball in the last minute.

We came we did a job and we left with three points, thanks to the brilliance of the best manager in the Prem.

i think he makes a good point, we have had some terrible desisions this season. bennet alone costs us points every season.
then the scum get a pen that never was, sorry, its bent as fuck.
