That bad refereeing decision could have cost us 4th spot!

I was watchin MoTD2 last night waiting for analysis of the Barry "handball", but amazingly there wasnt any close ups or real opinions on it.

However, as soon as the ball struck Vinnies hand I shit myself. I thought it was going to be given and could only think the ref left it as he wasnt sure about first one and had to take his assistants view on it.

Has anyone seen any conclusive video on the Barry one?

I don't think there was a good close up of the hand ball - the only one that was shown on the live match and during MOTD was a poor quality one from the wrong angle. Ultimately it didn't affect the match so not a huge deal.

Kompany was not hand ball as hand ball HAS to be deliberate (check out the fa website laws of the game).

The grey areas are when the player doesn't concsiously handle the ball, but has his hands in a position that makes him more lilkely to stop the ball. Kompany had his hands close to his side and was trying to move them away if anything so it can't be given.

Barry's was a bit bizzare because he had plenty of time to adjust himself to chest the ball so why would he handle? However I suspect the linesman thought he brought his arm forward, even though close to his body, to "cup" the ball.

Either way, we won and Liverpool were on the end of dodgier decisions which have benefited us today ;)

Our goal difference is such that we will be in trouble if it comes down to that anyway(when you consider that both Liverpool and Villa have to make up points, thus there goal difference is likely to improve).
