Jon Inverdale has been absolutely woeful. On Saturday he summed up Ennis' & Team GB's triumph thus, "You either love athletics, or maybe you don't...but......you have to love it, basically"

Drivel. After such a momentous two days for British sport, you expect a Wolstenholme or Tyler moment to express the enormity of what we've witnessed and we get a failed rugby player, like a startled bunny in the headlights, missing the opportunity.

And Colin Jackson made me cringe last night. "The big man's coming!!!!!!"

Gay.
Don't forget Jackson's other one before the 'big man' comment.....I'm sure it was something along the lines of 'look at what's 'is name'....Jesus Christ, couldn't even get the blokes name. Michael Johnson just looked at him like he was a fucking amateur, and I hope whoever is handing out the contracts took note as well.

Can i just point out to you 2 that colin jackson was not commentating or reviewing it he was enjoying the race like everyone else. BBC showed it because it supposed to be funny (okay it wasn't really) but your acting like he has to be professional during that and he doesn't he is just a lucky spectator

There are some harsh rules in the athletics. An Algerian medal contender for the 1500m has just been chucked out of the Games for not trying in the 800m. Other athletes are allowed to drop events without being thrown out. Seems unfair to the layman, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Either way, the BBC broadcast it, so it's there to be shot at.

Time for the uneven bars. And the gymnasts are all sober! Do the bars even themselves out if they get drunk?

Hey, it certainly is his job to review it afterwards, that's what he's fucking paid to do. If you look at it, you will see that Johnson was making notes at the end as he knew his job was to comment on the race afterwards - basically being the professional that he is, and ensuring that he earns his money. Jackson acted like a knob, and had nothing of value to add afterwards, and maybe because he wasn't being professional and just acting like a fucking teenager.

There are certainly more punches thrown in women's boxing than mens
