Yeah me too. It's all about investment. You can have loads of kids coming through but if the investment isn't there or isn't used properly all these talents will go to waste. We have a great opportunity off the back of thes Olympics to really push on in many areas. I just really hope it is done and done properly. The level of investment in these games has been immense and it shows just what you can do with good backing. Plus on the back of good backing you get contracts and sponsorship deals that can earn you money back. Pay to receive, rather than save to save, if you like.another generation said:I hope you are proved wrong. I think these Games will convert some doubters, and confirm just what can be achieved by that investment. I just hope that some of the kids who have been inspired to take up a sport, this time around, keep at it and manage to get in with the best coaching systems.danburge82 said:It just happens in home games. I think it's all the investment of money and expertise that are put into them just gives you a great chance of succeeding. We wont see this level of investment for a long time, which is a shame really. The cookie monster said:We are winning to many golds.

You've left a country with a population nearly the size of the United States out of the equation!jay_mcfc said:China has about 1.1bn people to choose from. There is no comparison to what Britain has done these games, they've been fantastic.
Me and the lads at work are going to do it, think its about £15 for 90mins should be a laugh.another generation said:I feel like booking a taster sesh down at our local velodrome.

Ha, I was taking the conservative estimate of 1.2bn Chinese. Besides the 'about' works well here ;)

Nothing to do with population, see India for example over 1bn and Micheal Phelps has won more medals in the Olympics that the whole of India have since we started taking part in the Olympics. Its all to do with facilities, encouragement and identifying talent at a young age and there are lots of it in China. Same situation with Britian and the USA.

India has lots of money it could spend on sports but its only interested in Cricket at the moment. That will change in the next 20 years
