Ha, I was taking the conservative estimate of 1.2bn Chinese. Besides the 'about' works well here ;)

Nothing to do with population, see India for example over 1bn and Micheal Phelps has won more medals in the Olympics that the whole of India have since we started taking part in the Olympics. Its all to do with facilities, encouragement and identifying talent at a young age and there are lots of it in China. Same situation with Britian and the USA.

India has lots of money it could spend on sports but its only interested in Cricket at the moment. That will change in the next 20 years

Can see cricket being their number one sport for another 100 years mate.

Well its the "football" ofIndia im not stupid enough to doubt that but as they develop and grow they will start funding other sports
