I reckon 2 in the boxing and 1 for the 5000m. Then there are other possibilities, like from Odowu for example. We could reach 25 golds at a stretch.

He was just eliminated from the triple jump!

Hoy and Pendleton will be huge favourites, and Trotty is world champ and 2nd after 4 events out of 6, she is such a gusty rider.

Shanaze Reid is world champ in the BMX so she's got a good chance.

Boxing i agree - 4 medals of which hopefully 2 will be gold.

5000m should Mo go in it, the dressage are leading (think they are assured a silver at least) and there will be other random ones i think, like sailing with some shouts.

The boxers will all get gold I hate to say it Ogogo should of been knocked out by now and he is nailed on for a gold. Campbell is on the easiest side of the draw and should get to the final and hopefully John Joe Nevin gets in the final as well John Joe has been class but if any fighter fights a british fighter they need to win BIG to get the result just like Katie Taylor yesterday. I think you will get at least 3 gold medals in the ring from the male fighters. Just think thats were the big advantage is for the host Nation anything close they get the result.

dont want to appear unpatriotic or owt but i am fucking sick of the sight of it all on our screens all day and night. bored now, want the footy back.

I'm certainly not sick of them, but I'm sick to fucking death of the BBC thinking that nothing else is going on in the world. There is a young girl missing in London, and the headline news is about a fucking Gold medal! The BBC have around 31 channels covering the Olympics, so I don't see why the news should be fucking dominated by it as well.

However, it is AMAZING and UNBELIEVABLE.........

There's fuck loads of kids go missing everyday. If they reported all of them then there'd never be time for any other news item.

hahaha.....the BBC are at it again this morning. In the last hour, 3 different reporters have said:

'if the cycling team were a country they'd be 10th in the medals table'

'if the rowing team were a country they'd be 10th in the medal table'

'if Yorkshire were a country they'd be 10th in the medal table'

Don't fucking watch then.

And what they say is true, it's been a fantastic acheivement.

Unlike in the gymnastics the judges are always swayed by the fans cheering every shot from a home fighter. I know there is 1 Irish fighter at home who has been robbed twice trying to get to London. In Joe Ward robbed in the Worlds getting deducted 2 points and losing to the hometown fighter on a countback. Then in the final quailifying got robbed again by the Turk in Turkey were Ward won the fight clearly. Team Ireland put in a protest and all but they didnt have a chance in hell getting it overturned. Only 18 or 19 but was European Champion the lot the best young amatur we have at the moment. Our 2 European Champions didnt even make the team for 1 reason or the other but both will be still about for Rio 4 years down the line.

The amateur game is a joke mate i agree. I have seen some travesties in amateur boxing i saw one home so bad the guy gave his trophy to the loser/winner (it was that obvious) unfortunately if you can stay up for 12 rounds its now finding its way back in to the pro game as well

Good grief. Thought Norway had been knocked out. They'll think they've won every event in the Games if they win. I'd better buy some Team GB and Union Flag stuff for when I get back there...
