the aftermath

Bizzbo, no offence taken or meant. I do thrive on rough and tumble and I know you can handle yourself. The Mancini in/out/unrest in the camp threads have got pretty heated over the last few months but you learn who are the ones with some intelligence and passion. And most of them are on this thread.

This has been one of the most balanced threads on Bluemoon in a long time.

Well done to all involved.

It was fairly clear from April onwards that Mancini would stay. Admittedly this was based on total guesswork and the fact that we went through the same shite at the end of last season and Bob's golden rule is if you want to know whats going to happen in the future then just look to the past.

So that's Mancini sacked by Xmas then.

Seriously Mancini has next season to get top 4 and make a credible challenge for the title - oh and win a pot to put in the cabinet.

Personally I think if he can get close with someone's elses squad and with some of the first team wanting him out then he should be hitting these targets next season.

Oh and excellent post Braggster

This thread should be set aside for when people want to read sensible and reasoned debate, posters on here are far and away more articulate than the vast majority on here myself included.

I've tried to understand why the club never came out and made a statement saying Mancini was staying no matter what and to clarify his contract.

You can look at it many ways one is why if he was staying all along they didn't bow down to the media pressure and that's what it was pressure and issue a statement.
If you look at how things have been done down the years within the club then this imformation would have got out to the press somehow. So the media do what they've always done, specualted till the imformation got out or the dreaded backing of the manager from the board statement from the club was issued.
Things have changed since Mancini arrived and the press have changed their minds each week on what was happening which means they probably knew next to nothing.
Maybe the club is saying this is how things will be in the future,we will run a closed shop from now on you the press will know when we want and when it's the best for the club.No more media pressure you can speculate and make yourself look idiots whenever you like. From now on this club will be run how it should be not how it has been for the past 30 years.

Then again you add to the above that if there was a possibility that maybe Jose at the end of the season was available then you would hold your cards to your chest but still let the press speculate on your behalf, because there's no doubt about it,any club in our position with a new manager in charge for half a season would in his time look at alernatives just incase.

I really can see our club run as a professional outfit in the years to come, there's more than likely to be changes with personal but our owner and his advisors know how to build success, even though new to football they also know just like in buisness it's not something that's earned overnight and planning for the a good future is joined with some failures along the way.

Right I'm off to read some of the twaddle and stupid stuff on here it keeps me balanced
