I was told by my journo friends a couple of decades ago that he was a blue. If so, I don't know what's happened to him recently. Apparently, the same applied to Yelland, the editor at the Sun back in the nineties.

The hatred being vented towards the club just seems to be increasing with every passing week. Must be doing something right...

He's a Dundee fan, but he worked as a sub-editor at the Guardian in Manchester for several years before they asked him to cover football when they were short staffed. During his Manc years, I believe he did watch City.

I follow Yelland on Twitter and he tweets enthusiastically about us.

That all sounds about right, mate, from what I was told all those years ago. Just glad you are about as old as me though and still moaning about the kit. LOL.

Talksport headline today is United 6 wins on the bounce and are big title contenders (forgetting to mention they got battered in most of the games they won). No mention of our 7 on the bounce anywhere but rather we are looking erratic??
A rag told me last night very smugly that they had won 6 on the bounce. I told him we were on 7 to which he replied 'not all in the league' I agreed with him and said we also included European games and which point the conversation stopped. He didn't even reply when I asked him who he was hoping for in the next round of the CL... They are hurting and genuinely believe they can win the league this year.

Rags and Dippers have a unique characteristic. Rags can instantly revert to being Dippers, and vice versa!
Or is it that they are one and the same? Anyone seen the Kop in the same place as The Stretford End?

To be fair, if anyone is going to have a good chance it will be them once the going gets tough. They only have to worry about the next league game when it comes to injuries etc. De Gea won't save them every match though, it's only a matter of time before they concede a couple in a game where they didn't get so lucky and it all goes out the window again.

If I recall correctly, the rags also ecked out a lot of 1:0 wins the last time they won the Prem. Plus managed to keep Vanpussy injury free. So they have form previous form in this matter.

Re: so this agenda thing.

The rags are 8 points behind Chelsea and I'm hearing "..United couldn't win the league from there, could they? Well, if they keep grinding out these results then who knows" yet when we were 8 points behind with more of the season to play for, it's Chelsea are the champions elect.

I'd be lost if there was nowt to moan about. But when it gets down to stuff like the colour of the trim on the kits, things can't be going too badly! :)

Bang on mate, the brown nosing of utd is disgusting and it's not even being hidden anymore, it's quite embarrassing really how quick papers, radio stations and TV broadcasters work themselves into a lather about them.
They won't finish top 4,a lucky run of fixtures has got their fans wanking themselves silly but they haven't played anybody, teams expected to give them a game have been In poor form..
Let them get excited, the fall will be funny as fuck.

Re: so this agenda thing.

the latest is the stuff about de gea being the best keeper in the world!!!!!! yes he is playing well but most of those saves yesterday were pretty bog standard for any keeper

plus he is no where near the level of manuel nuerer

if that had been joe hart yesterday the narrative would have been how hart had saved our rocky/leaky defence...no mention of the fact that utd were opened up numerous times by a very very average liverpool team who in the first half were playing without a recognised striker. If there had been a forward of only half decent standard plying for liverpool in the first half they would have had at least two.....stirling is a good player but he is a wide attacking midfielder/winger not a centre forward...a costa, aguero etc would have buried those chances

thje save from balotelli was decent reactions but yet again pretty much straight after him

the save by joe hart from the header in the roma game was far better than any of those yesterday as was the one by him in the everton game from lukaku

Arsenal perhaps, but who else do you believe will overtake them for the 3rd or 4th spot?

Re: so this agenda thing.

utd have a couple of tricky away games coming up so hopefully they will drop points but i see them getting third unfortunately as liverpool and everton both seem to have lost the plot and arsenal are so so unpredictable and usually fold under any kind of pressure

The league this time is very very strange Chelsea playing poorly reliant on an injury waiting to happen striker at the top .city blowing hot and cold any other season would be top.reliant on a striker that can just about manage 10 games before the usual annual break .Southampton and west ham on acid and lost at the top.arsenal started the after Xmas collapse early and on the up .spurs anyone's guess Liverpool going through the moutions till Gerrard fills in till Rafa comes .and the rags reliant on a goalie that every striker tries to hit him and a reject Belgium being their best player and the second coming Belgium getting loaned out and the goal machine being kept as the cold machine.very very strange .can see the rags by default nailed on 3rd arsenal 4th.then dependent how we go next month and how far Chelsea's cup run and Costa lasts being 1and 2 and not sure which order tho ?
