Re: 'Agenda' no more apparent than right now

The Talksport newsreader has just announced that:

"Manchester City stay 2nd after their 3-2 win over Sunderland"

We sit at the top of the table with Chelsea. There is nothing to separate us - same points, goals scored, goals against. And yet...

90% of what I have read in the papers, heard on the radio or seen from pundits on TV has made it clear that Chelsea are miles better than us this season. I hear about their rock solid defence and our shaky one - although we've conceded the same number of goals. Their lethal attack and our total reliance on the injured Aguero - yet we've scored the same number of goals.

I was watching Soccer Saturday the other week and when discussing Costa's brilliance, Matt Le Tissier dared to say that he'd rather have Aguero in his team than Costa. The other 4 pundits, in particular Phil Thompson, scoffed at it and looked at Le Tiss as if he'd just spewed up dog shit out of his mouth.

Mourinho is constantly referred to as a genius and the best manager in the game. Yet our manager won the double in his first 'transition' season (the excuse they use for Van Gaal this season) - not only that, Mourinho sets up his team against us by parking the bus through fear of getting battered with the hope of catching us on the break. I guarantee that they will also set up like that at the Bridge in a few weeks. Some say football is an entertainment business - under Pellegrini we play by far the prettiest and most intricate passing football in the league combined with a directness that constantly creates chances like the 32 we had today. Match of the Day tonight gave us no credit by the way, save for a (deserved) Lampard love-in.

Robbie Savage announced last month that Chelsea would 'run away with the title' and he wasn't alone - Chelsea have had it 'in the bag' since they signed their missing jigsaw pieces Costa & Fabregas in the summer. Are these pricks so stupid that they forget what happens so often - United in April 2012, Arsenal December 13, Liverpool in March. Do they write us off through stupidity or is something else going on?

There is no way Chelsea have been better than us this season. The proof is in the league table. Yet according to the media they are STREETS AHEAD. We have apparently gone backwards & made bad signings. Level with Chelsea, and look at our injury problems! According to the media the only team struggling with injuries this season is United - but have they had the whole spine of the team out for crucial matches? Their 4 best players all out at the same time? Match of the Day criticised our defence last week with no mention of the fact that our captain, & best defender in the league, is out injured.

I'm totally sick of the biased shit I read and hear week after week - even Gary Lineker alluded to it last week. People will say that every clubs fans think the media is anti their club. But in our case it is actually true. I think the reason is pure jealousy mixed with the fact that many high-level journos support the clubs that were big when they were kids (United/Liverpool) or London clubs as most of them are London based. Whatever the reason, it stinks. People will say don't read or listen to the pundits, but this is part and parcel of the enjoyment you get from football - waiting for the reaction & phone-ins after a good result.

God I haven't even mentioned the constant money jibes which are only levelled at us. The bottom line is that there is an agenda, the media in general does not treat us with an even hand. It's extremely frustrating as a fan & I can't see it changing any time soon. Pellegrini wants us to get the credit we deserve, and so do I. We are the best team in the league by a distance when fully fit - not bad for a bunch of mercenaries with no team spirit...
Any particular reson why this couldn't have gone in the existing agenda thread?

Re: 'Agenda' no more apparent than right now

There's been quite a bit of positive stuff on Talkshite about us in the last couple of days. Micky Quinn had Kun and Pellers as the player and manager of the year and two thirds of Talkshite listeners think we will go on to retain the league! Lineker and co loved our goals on MOTD.

I am happy for us to go under the radar (mostly) as others have said. It's laughable how bias the media have been about agenda and it's been great seizing the journals and pundits back track a little on the "invincibles"

I am more concerned about the refs. Nasri could have had a broken leg but Sunderland are allowed to break towards our box until they dive for a free kick.

On a positive note, Super Frank has got a lot of positive reviews after his 176th Premier League goal - and the "media onslaught" hasn't got off the ground on this side of the pond, at least!

Re: so this agenda thing.

Talksport totally forgot we won last night and went level with Chelsea, it took a good hour and a half before a city fan rang in and said why aren't we getting the credit for closing the gap, only then did cunty and goldstein start mumbling and saying a half arsed well done.
Their pain is plain to see and I love it,heads buried in deep sand at talkshite towers.

It does make me chuckle when you periodically appoint yourself as a de facto Mod, jim.

GUARANTEED.

Before yesterday's game Luke Shaw was saying they need to keep winning to close the gap on Chelsea and keep the pressure on. No mention of us lol!

What are you on about; "de facto"? I might as well come clean, seeing as it's a new year. I am one of the mods' unofficial eyes and ears on here (there are others). They can't be expected to see everything, after all. They did ask me to keep this quiet, but fuck it. You sort of rumbled me.

Ban this fucker, Jim.

Probably an armchair supporter anyway.

Unfortunately I don't have executive powers, so I can't ban people. I've simply been asked to keep a watching brief on here. However, I do know one or two lovely folks who do have the power of the ban. A quick word in their shell-like is all it takes.
