The Album Review Club - Week #139 - (page 1815) - Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds

Yes, I try to limit the syrupy stuff to once a week (but sometimes fail).

EDIT; looks like about 90 calories pers serving (3 pumps) so I'd say that's pretty good in the grand scheme of things if only once per week. Now If I could just cut out the cheesecake and brownies then the 90 calories would be fine :)

That's nowhere as bad as the thing I read in a newspaper, there's probably a lesson for me there!!

I feel the same way about Cliff as you do. But Soul Junk is a deeper level of Hell.

Though I scored it reasonably high I have some sympathy with your "tense/out of sorts" comment. Even when the tempo is lowered, there still remains IMO an energy to it which if you are not in the mood is quite unsettling. For all it's general 'don't care' vibe it's nonetheless quite intense. Manic would be the wrong word but I'm struggling for the right one.

Coffee wankers. There's a special place in hell for anyone who heats/ reheats tea in a microwave. Disgusting habit.

I thought you were supposed to be training magistrates this morning luv? WTF are you doing on here and why have you hijacked BB's account ?

Hang on, this morning you spent all breakfast singing Master and Servant to yourself....Oh f**k.

Well, it turns out that @mrbelfry has narrowly avoided coming bottom of the pile with his first nomination.
Soul-Junk's 1956 pulled in 13 punters at an average of 4.28.

But as others have said, credit for an off-the-wall nomination that was never going to be vying for the top places - it's more about the joy of listening to something a little different, and if it didn't land with everybody, well there's always next week.

Or maybe this week? Step forward @BimboBob .....
