The anti road cycling thread

I have absolutely no problem with cyclists, except when they ride two abreast, breaking with protocol, chatting away, not giving a fuck about those they are delaying.

Then they are cunts.

Read the highway code and engage your brain before next picking up your car keys.

The single file cyclists don’t need to ride in the centre of the road forcing the entire of the overtaking car onto the opposite side of the road
What's the problem with that? If only half the car is 'forced' into the other lane, you're still going to crash if there's a car coming the other way. What difference does it make, unless you're trying to overtake while there's a car coming?

As already mentioned cyclists and motorists are all as bad as each other. I pulled up at the lights on my bike last night and another cyclist casually pulled up and positioned himself right in front of me like I wasn't there, he then proceeds to pedal away with all his might like it was the tour de France checking over his shoulder to see was I still there, his best bit was going up into the blindspot to undertake a turning car and then going apeshit when he nearly got flattened.
This sort of stuff happens almost daily, no wonder motorists get pissed off with cyclists

If they ride near the kerb they risk not being seen as easily by cars joining traffic from side roads. A cyclist has the right to use 100% of the road for their safety. If they don't feel it is safe to "move over" then they are under no obligation to do so. This is what is taught in cycle proficiency training (you know, the training most anti-cyclists always like to bring up). Be safe, be seen.

If there is no room for a car driver to overtake, you could always try this revolutionary idea; wait. The destination you're going to isn't going anywhere.

At least he pushed in front of you and then actually went fast. There's nothing more annoying than those people who rush to be the first and then walk like an old lady with a double hip replacement. Those fuckers who push in front of you to get on the escalator, and then don't even walk. Are you in a hurry or not?

In conclusion, people are pricks.

That is exactly the problem. You see it whether you are on a bike or in a car - there are motorists who just cannot wait, and cannot bear to be anywhere in a line of traffic other than at the front.

Every road journey I make, be it on the bike or motorcycle, I lose count of the number of amber gamblers, RLJ's, no indicators being used, pavement mounters, cyclists and drivers being knobheads in their chosen vehicle of transport. But I don't criticise the method, I criticise the moron doing it.

For every annoying cyclist there's an arrogant car driver. As you said, people cannot wait or use the "i'm late" excuse as justification. Who gives a fuck if YOU are late, that sounds like a YOU problem. If it's a problem, set off earlier, give yourself time allowances for any potential traffic issues. And I can guaren-damn-tee that any backed up traffic problems aren't being caused by bikes.

Threads like these just prove a lot of car drivers know how to operate the vehicle, but don't know how to actually drive it.

It really doesn't it just shows that a percentage of people are either selfish or stupid and that's about it. It makes no difference whether they are travelling on legs or wheels of any number.

The only difference is if someone opens a thread on bad car drivers you don't tend to get a load of car drivers deflecting onto other road users. It's more yeah some people are twats or useless.

Cyclists tend to be far more sensitive to criticism for some reason. They take it very personally for some reason like its an insult to them as an individual

The funniest cyclists are those that quote the highway code, not the parts that relate to cyclists mind because as they know these are routinely ignored by a lot of cyclists.

It's basically people being people and reacting negatively to any criticism of 'their side' which is sad but not new.
