I used to work for a well known bank who regularly financed deals for a Premier League Club - who had a tax exiled owner who'd underwrite loans arranged by the bank. I never posted details of any deals I worked on - it wasn't City related and there was little to disclose but more than 50 per cent of the time the deals would not happen for one reason or another - even though the deals were very advanced. Transfer deals are complex and can break down so on experience I know we need to cut the genuine ITKs a bit of slack.

I agree.. they are excited so they want to share but some people take info with such anger.
 
I watched Wesley Sneijder basically begging to sign for City while in Dublin a few years back. Spent 2 days ignoring his Inter teammates and hanging out with City players and Mancini every opportunity he got. Deal never happened. Sometimes they are just too complicated or too costly to pull the trigger. ITK's aren't the ones signing the bloody contracts.

Nonsense!
He was only ever signing for Utd, that summer.
That Sunday when Sky asked him, after the City game, if he was close to signing for his beloved Utd and he turned away laughing... Sky said it was a SURE SIGN that Utd had him in the bag!
As it turned out, Utd didn't want him...


(As I heard it, you're dead right about his behaviour but certain parties (not Mancini, oddly) would have preferred if he'd put more effort in on the pitch - he'd nearly have made the cut if some folk had thought it may have made the appeasing of Mancini easier, at that stage. - Might be bollocks, mind. Anything I ever hear has been very well filtered and distorted by the time it gets down to us mere mortals in the pits).

John I've seen it happen. A forum I used to visit had a video game sub. We were discussing a game that was coming out soon and one of the testers ( let's say the Source ) was a member and giving some real good info on things that hadn't been released. Another poster, wanting to be Billy Big Balls ( we'll call him the ITK ), went on another gaming forum and posted some of the info. The publisher came after him (ITK) with lawyers, he said where he had got the info from, and they figured out who the tester (source) was and fired him.

I think most on here (me for certain) are encouraged by the ITK's giving us a heads up that we are in for so and so. I respect their comments and their need to be discreet with the information as that may compromise either their jobs, or access to further information. I would imagine that each ITK knows how far they can push the boundaries in terms of putting info into a general forum. Yes, most don't come to fruition, but I never for one moment never believe the ITK at their time of posting.

The off season is a long time for fans, and engaging in banter/debates with other Blues who share info and cryptic clues helps pass the long days between May and August.
