Is Vinny down at CFA for SSN? Pep starts work this minute - has he been spotted at his desk yet? Messi sealed by sunrise.

Tbh I can't see how revealing a name on BM is going to stop a deal, but I don't know how transfers work, and if that's how you want to provide your info, then fine!

The point is that both selling clubs and buying clubs want to keep their interest private, or at least to control who has access to the knowledge.

For the selling club, they may fear a backlash over news of the sale, or that the press finding out about their interest may lead to scrutiny which throws off other plans of theirs. If it becomes known that they are selling their talisman midfielder then naturally everyone will realise that they need a new one and suddenly the player they tell clubs they only want as a back-up everyone realises is going to be their new star, and prices shoot up, etc.

For the buying club, especially if it's in the selling club's interests to leak the news, they may force the seller to stay silent because they know that a bidding war would cause the cost to rise far too high. If the press catch on, though, then suddenly another club which may have believed it was safely biding its time realises that they're about to lose out on their chance to land a target, and can leap in with an offer the seller can't resist. The seller may also feel like suddenly the shackles are off, too, and decide that since everyone now knows about the deal they can demand an extra £5m straight away as the cost of their continued exclusivity.

And then on top of all of this, there's the impact that agents can have if they realise that they can now extort one club or both for an inflated fee once the deal has been leaked.

There are of course numerous other ways and reasons that a story leaking can cause troubles, and if the demanded cost goes too high then the sale falls through. This is why clubs are usually so stringent on punishing people who leak info.

People coming on saying a record bid has gone in brings people to the site. If a bad had gone in the media would no 100%. Complete bullshit.

Trust the greedy corporations with motivations to manipulate you for profit over the people who've been known for years? Gotcha. Stupid mistake on my part.

Is this the first conspiracy of the window?

What you have to understand is that City have tied up a lot of leaks over the years, giving out red herrings to find out who. Nobody in their right mind would be stupid enough to come on to the forum and drop a name now.
When we signed Barry, Lescott and one other, can't mind who, bits of stadium info, I was all of a sudden "itk", FF to the following summer and we had some conflicting stories on the board about Fernando Torres, me saying he'd signed, yet @tolmie's hairdoo saying that the bid hadn't been accepted.

Didn't get much info after that

That would be a dumb plan. Seeing as people make up rumors about any and every player.

I can start a rumor we have tabled a 90 million Euro bid for Lewpassing. This doesn't prove whoever it was leaked to told me. Since I can guess how much it will cost to get Lewa and the like.

But for those who want a name though, here it is:

It is Dybala. It's an 86 mlion Euros offer. And has been put on Juve's table.

How do I know this? No, I'm not ITK. No, IBH didn't send me a PM. No, I've never spoken to anyone in the know at City before.

But I know it's Dybala coz it fits. He is young, he can play all attacking positions, plays for a team Pep knows well, and Juve had recently rejected an 80 million Euro request from someone else (PSG perhaps). and they (Juve) have been shopping around for attacking players. That we've also sounded them out for Pogba before passing on his demand, all tells me the most likely player is Dybala.

IBH tell your source I figured it out all by myself. I don't need an ITK :)
I remember reports of Guardiola wanting him at City in January and an article saying that Aguero had asked to play with him or that he wanted Dybala to come learn from him at City. He's best friends with Pogba, but if he goes to Madrid I think there is a strong possibility that you're right and Dybala leaves as well...he also speaks spanish and the province he comes from in argentina is more suited to cattle and cowboys than Messi...
