if we're considering letting Fernando go (Milan and Fiorentina linked), we need another CM. We needed one anyway, but now we'd really need one.

We'd only have Gundogan, Fernandinho, and Delph. Don't think Toure can play in this sytem

Yeah, the Fernando links are interesting. If they are true, and we are willing to let both him and Toure leave, then we must be looking at another central midfielder.

Kroos hopefully

I know the arguments for and against another experienced midfielder have been done to death on here, but I would love to see Kroos at City. Kroos and Gundogan in midfield would allow us to compete for possession with the very best teams in the champs league in a way that we haven't been able to do as of yet.

Wait a minute, hold on, let's address the important issue... there's rumours Fernando's going?

You don't have to sacrifice the ball winner though. He didn't at Bayern with Lahm.

Somewhere in the world is a player who can be the pivot and pass better than Fern.
I think his ball winner at Bayern was Vidal. They have a lot of similarities however Vidal was used higher up the pitch. He still managed to make room for a deeper lying playmaker like Alonso.
Personally I think he's irreplaceable he can score, assist, defend, play on the wings and his passing is pretty good. Wherever he ends up he'll be vital in this team but I really think we'd miss his presence in midfield.

Fernandinho's equivalent was Lahm at Bayern.

Think Bravo will be the last first team signing but just like last season I think top teams will expose us when Kolarov and Zab starting at fullback. Think we look stronger when Clichy and Sagna starting. Going forward Kolarov looked solid tonight but still gets exposed at the back too easy and thats going to be a problem against the top 4-5 teams in the prem and in CL.

Hmm interesting one. I'll concede, the role dinho is playing now you're right but as a player I see a lot more similarities between Vidal and Fernandinho. However, I don't think he'll be used in future like Vidal was so yeah I agree haha

It's probably unrealistic, but if we were able to find buyers/loan deals (where we weren't subsidising wages) for Hart, Mangala, Nasri, Toure and Bony in the next couple of weeks that would free up a huge amount of space on the wage bill. Maybe as much as £750k a week. It'd certainly give us the leeway to make a big move.

It would raise a decent amount of money in fees as well.

Must be looking to get £80m plus for those 5.
