What kind of world class manager would come in and make drastic signings, without first doing some training with his new team to see what he is working with...?

Especially someone who likes youth. Give it a couple of weeks.

The signings made have been identified as crucial beforehand...the rest comes down to what pep thinks he needs, and training gives him the answers to that.

That's far too rational for this thread.

Bugger off back to your own forums ;)

I think what concerns me is that we have a large number of 1st team players that are in the last year of their contracts and heard no reports that we are interested to extended any of them...we've still got a lot of work to do in the transfer window and feel most of the list below could be replaced over the next 12months. As most of these are 30+ years old, it would not make sense for us to offer new long term deals.....Just looking at this list shows we should be signing atleast one, if not 2 fullbacks this summer....

Fernandinho,
Yaya Toure,
Fernando,
Jesus Navas,
Bacary Sagna,
Gael Clichy
Pablo Zabaleta

(havent even included Kolarov on this list and needs to move on)

Which was

And I'll stick to mine, which was or can be implied to be "don't be so stupid, the window has a long way to go. But heh, you carry on thinking you know what is actually happening.
You're wasting your time bud, he'll post 9 negative views to every positive 1 he writes.

i wouldn't renew many of these - Fernandinho - 2 yrs, Sagna and Clichy 1 year rolling. Maybe Navas if Pep makes him more productive. Looks like we are going to sign a number of early to mid 20s players to gradually replace an ageing squad.

Just been away for a few days with no internet so thought I'd catch up.

So.....nothing new then?
You'd think not reading the last few pages on here, but Stones and Sane deals reportedly close with player's side sorted. Waiting on clubs to agree fees. Those are the reports. As usual may not be true

Apart from Zabaleta, Yaya and Navas, I personally would be looking to renew the rest.

Fernandinho is just a quality midfielder...fullstop.

Fernando could be our new Gareth Barry and despite their ages, Clichy and Sagna remain two of the finest fullbacks in the Premier League.
