A summer of

Sane - potentially a very good player - but will he adapt and progress
Nolito - squad filler for me
Stones (best english prospect out there) and an absolute upgrade on MDM
Gudongan - absolute class
Perez, Moreno and Reece oxford - none will go into the first team so again all potential - not sure whats happening with zinchenko but could be in the same bracket and all look like they will be loaned out.
Bonnucci - absolute class but will he come???.......its very 50/50 from the info that is out there

I absolutely get the signing of young talent and Im all for it

But there are only 2 players for me there that improve our starting squad and thats Gudongan and Stones.....noone knows if Sane will for definite and Nolito (I suppose he is better than Navas but Ive seen nothing to suggest that he is going to have any major impact

For me we need a midfielder (unless we are banking on Yaya having a complete turn around and one last hurrah - i suppose if one manager int he world can get that out of him then its Pep)

We absolutely need a left back - if Kolorov ever plays for us again questions need to be asked - the guy is terrible and has been (baring one few month period) since he got here.

We also absolutely need another centre forward - Bony - again he is woeful - Pep will need to be a miracle worker to get him to play at the level required. If Kun gets injured we are banking on Bony (see previous comment), Kelechi (good but very inexperienced)

Sterling (who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo)

and then 2 players who have never played in the prem (Nolito and Sane) - both wide players

None of them are good enough (as of yet for some) to replace kun over a long period of time and only Kelechi is a natural goal scorer...Nolito is a wide player whose best season is 12-13 (decent for a wide player but can he actually play as a centre forward for any long period of time and in a tougher league)

Sane (mooted to play more central in the future but not at present). Hugely risky if this is how it turns out in the end. KDB is the only over player we have with a real eye for goal.

Just think we are missing a trick here with Pep now in charge to really dominate and lay a marker down this season and for the next few seasons. (if our transfers work out the way we are seeing at present)

Sane and Stones will be world class in 3-5 years, but will they play a big part of a title winning side next season?

We need Bonucci. Him and Gundogan would make a huge difference straight away. Sprinkle Stones, Sane and Nolito on top of that and it's a great window.

I definitely think we need one more big, experienced signing.

I love our business so far but I agree that its "unfinished" business.....even after Sane is signed, I feel we still need a CB and a fullback....I dont think we can do everything in one summer transfer window but dont believe we should go into another season with the same back 4.....It seems clear we looking for 2 new CB's this summer but if we can get Stones and a fullback in after Sane, I think we've made big improvements...

I think people understimates the fact that we have already a preatty good team, but we have been managed by a man that has completely lost the plot in the last two years. I still believe we'll do something in midfield, but the fullbacks situation will stay as it is

Sane & Stones nearly done....and who's next ?

Kroos (or like Kroos) will be the signing we still need. There is lot of potential, lot of youth so far. Experience does matter. I think Pep is capable of winning the league with the current squad. But to win CL, we need an elite CM, experienced, esp if we want to play positional football. Of course Pep could surprise us all. But transfer windows are not in our hands. And its clear, we are not going to splash obscene money on transfer fees, agent fees, player wages anymore? Though, mkt is inflated and will be more inflated if the rags do the "laughing-stock" deal (aka Pogba). But there is still 5 weeks and Pep needs more time to evaluate the squad properly to know what they can and what they cant do before making further moves. I trust Pep. He has a nose for player quality. And i hv a feeling, Pep & Txixi ARE working on an "elite" signing quietly.

Do you think we will stay up?

Typical comment from someone who has no believe in what Pep can do with the players we have and the youth products. You want us to buy buy buy and that'll do it. Well ...it won't.

You, me and everyone else on here doesn,t know how any of our new signings will pan out, that includes gundogan and stones, so just go with the flow, enjoy the ride and what will be, will be.
