A summer of
Sane - potentially a very good player - but will he adapt and progress
Nolito - squad filler for me
Stones (best english prospect out there) and an absolute upgrade on MDM
Gudongan - absolute class
Perez, Moreno and Reece oxford - none will go into the first team so again all potential - not sure whats happening with zinchenko but could be in the same bracket and all look like they will be loaned out.
Bonnucci - absolute class but will he come???.......its very 50/50 from the info that is out there
I absolutely get the signing of young talent and Im all for it
But there are only 2 players for me there that improve our starting squad and thats Gudongan and Stones.....noone knows if Sane will for definite and Nolito (I suppose he is better than Navas but Ive seen nothing to suggest that he is going to have any major impact
For me we need a midfielder (unless we are banking on Yaya having a complete turn around and one last hurrah - i suppose if one manager int he world can get that out of him then its Pep)
We absolutely need a left back - if Kolorov ever plays for us again questions need to be asked - the guy is terrible and has been (baring one few month period) since he got here.
We also absolutely need another centre forward - Bony - again he is woeful - Pep will need to be a miracle worker to get him to play at the level required. If Kun gets injured we are banking on Bony (see previous comment), Kelechi (good but very inexperienced)
Sterling (who couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo)
and then 2 players who have never played in the prem (Nolito and Sane) - both wide players
None of them are good enough (as of yet for some) to replace kun over a long period of time and only Kelechi is a natural goal scorer...Nolito is a wide player whose best season is 12-13 (decent for a wide player but can he actually play as a centre forward for any long period of time and in a tougher league)
Sane (mooted to play more central in the future but not at present). Hugely risky if this is how it turns out in the end. KDB is the only over player we have with a real eye for goal.
Just think we are missing a trick here with Pep now in charge to really dominate and lay a marker down this season and for the next few seasons. (if our transfers work out the way we are seeing at present)
