I hope your right mate! If we have to go into our CL knockout game with Yaya, Mangala and Kolarov anywhere near our starting 11, we could be out of the CL, even before any new lads, are up to speed on Pep's system.

Hang on, all three were involved in the campaign that took us to the sem-final, only a few weeks ago. Admittedly, all of them were poor for (sometimes long) stretches but clearly not everything they touched turned to dog-poo, either - or we wouldn't have won a cup, finished top four and reached that semi (however poorly we performed v Real).

People (not just you) should try to relax and enjoy the down-season. We have absolutely no control over who City sell or sign. There's no point in overthinking the whys, wherefores and what ifs because you only wind up jumping to silly conclusions (such as the example above).

Don't get me wrong, I like the transfer forum too and it's always exciting to think that we may be acquiring some top class players but that doesn't necessarily mean that those we already have are totally unfit for purpose, either.
If we sign some more, great. If we don't, not so great but they'll still give it a go (however far short they fall - or not) and we'll keep on supporting them (rather than taking a defeatist attitude before a ball has been kicked).

Hi mate, good points!...when you can remember standing outside Maine Road, crying, shouting "Swales out" after the Luton game (when we were relegated), missing on a transfer target doesnt seem so bad!;)

what, what, what's the down-season?
given my family surname, i'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.
i hope it doesn't mean toffs can start having potshots at us.

Fuck me you're 40 years old and u flap like fuck at transfers?

"Flap" seems to be a fashionable term used on here and its probably because I am in my 40's that I can just smile when people say that!;) Thats the danger of typing on a forum, sometimes it comes across different than if you were talking face to face...I find our transfer business frustrating but "flap/panic" is slightly over exaggerating.. I might start flapping first weekend of the season, if I see Yaya, Kolarov and Mangala on the team sheet tho!;)
