How overweight and unfit was he?

It must have been pretty bad because he'd been in preseason training for 3-4 weeks before the Dortmund game and he wasn't allowed to play in that because of his weight.

fook me, if that's a massive belly, I should be in a zoo. It's all relative and top athletes can burn fat very quickly. I'm not advocating he shouldn't have been in shape, but some perspective dont you think?

I'd imagine that publicly calling a player overweight and unfit is a sure fire way to take him off prospective buyers shopping lists - especially a player on the wages that Sami will be on. I have a feeling it is a tactic from Pep to tell Nasri to shape up and fight for his place. If he wanted to sell him, surely it would have been better to keep quiet about his fitness?

I think Sami could be a cracking player for us, but that really is up to him.

I fully agree that it's ridiculous, but I think the evidence suggests that Pep wants to use him. If he wanted to sell him, why publicly call him out for being unfit?

Nasri was magnificent toward the end of the season vs west brom inspite of looking a bit tubby. Sure he will be a big player for us this season.
