defo too much common sense there jay. we all know thats exactly what we should do, but theres just that little voice that says "try fuckin win it boys!!!!"

oh but ur back so naturally it's all anderson's fault because he clearly isn't world class like glenn mcgrath...;)

We won't really go for victory and nor will we get it if we do. I still think we should just bat all day and properly knacker them up for the next test and give our batsmen some time in the middle. Our bowlers worked pretty hard the other day, they all bowled over 30 overs and in a 5 test series with a 4 man attack giving them a rest at any opportunity is a positive.

There are only two real results here. 95% certain a draw and 5% Aussie win.

We still have to bat a session or two to put on a total that cannot be caught. A collapse now could leave the pick pockets with something real to chase and highly attainable. Once we have registered a suitable score then the Aussies will not risk their own collaps and will bat out the game.
Blue Jay has got it dead right. Strangle the game. Leave them in the field all day. Get the practise. Take the draw but more importantly take the psychological edge.
