The Ashes 2015

Look in the book....
Being a Yorkie I've seen a lot of him this season. Even at his best he doesn't always look perfect. He's pretty unorthodox. They've stopped directly coaching him at Yorkshire now after he messed with his technique way too much last time he wore an England shirt, they just offer advice if he asks for it. I wouldn't worry about how he looks, just look at the numbers. I hope he starts properly cutting loose soon, its magical to watch when he does.

Root continuing to be absolute class. He might end up with more runs in the series than the entire Aussie team at this rate!
This young Yorkshire lad is one of the best bats I've ever seen, and I've seen a few.
His anticipation and aggression is astounding.

You'll have seen more of him than me, but the difference for me from when he was last in the test team, is with his high back lift a la Gooch, not only means he's standing taller but he seems more steady as well, with less movement. He's not orthodox but I think he has a good enough technique for number 5, he also has the minerals in tight positions as we have seen before.

Unlucky. Well played bairstow.

Ponting seems to have the Neville factor. Absolute **** of a player, decent pundit!

As has been said before, he was a lot funnier during the big bash, but he isnt too bad. The masterclass with him, Healy and Warne was excellent that they did during the last test. Ponting and Healy being 2 of my most disliked knuckle draggers but are both decent pundits.

I got it wrong about Englands bowlers this summer but I've been banging the Bairstow drum since he was dropped for the last Ashes match in 2013/2014. He obviously isn't pretty on the eye and he does make mistakes but he's a fighter and he's a quick run scorer. He battled like crazy out there today but when you look at the scores throughout with the exception of the phenomenon then Barstow has just cemented his place in the team for the foreseeable.

He is really good in the Big Bash with Gilchrist and others. He seemed nervous here but I love listening to his knowledge and describing techniques. The masterclass section on Sky Sports is out of this world.
